Maximum price no higher than $700

It needs these specs or somewhere close... 8 gb Ram i5 processor or equivalent Intel Integrated graphics OR an AMD or Nvidea card that has atleast 2gb or video ram battery life can be short, idc about that 1 terabyte HDD OR 250gb Sdd at least 15 inch screen touch screen isn't needed Is not an ultrabook, and does NOT have a rotating screen or some other gimmick Has wifi, usb ports. etc and all the other basic essentials.

I'm pretty sure you won't get a GPU in a laptop, but maybe I'm wrong. TBH, I'd say build a desktop. That is, if you have the peripherals already. Unfortunately, that's really all I have to add to the conversation as I don't know the laptop market well.

For $700 with those spec is almost impossible. $900-$1000 would be more realistic...

Mine cost $950 and have all the above specifications but I7 instead of i5 and touchscreen instead of the integrated graphic card. Dell Inspiron. Which was the most cost effective I could find besides an ASUS (not fan of that brand). You are better off savinf teh extra $200 bucks to buy it.

A desktop on the other hand is completely possible and you would have several options to chose from.

buy refurbished, that's the only way you can get those specs in a laptop for that price.

Newegg has an Asus laptop for 769 that has the specs you want, but I agree with the other posters, you could get a much better product if you saved another $200 and went for a 900-1000 laptop. Personally I like Asus, I have a $1500 laptop from them and it works phenominally. The best advice i can give you is to shop around online, and try to buy it new. It also helps to read customer reviews in case a particular laptop has common issues. Otherwise I'd reccommend a desktop, but if you're looking for mobility then I'd say shop around Newegg or Tigerdirect.

Under 700$ is really hard to get something that's going to last. Definitely save up an extra 200 and you'll get something nice.
