The servers for FEK 4.0 have been taken down in preperation for FEK 5.0

Please remove FEK from Greasemonkey or Tampermonkey. If the only thing you used Grease/Tampermonkey for was FEK, then you can uninstall that script manager as well.

FEK 5.0 will be having frequent updates to quickly bring back all of the features that existed in 4.0

If you want you can check out 5.0 you can do so in the thread below. Please note that it's not finished yet and using it with Discussion Mode can be extremely buggy! Currently it's only recommended to use Chronological Mode with 5.0 but I hope to fix that soon.

People have been telling me that they would misclick the notification, removing it instead of actually clicking on the link. I've also removed seconds from the timestamp because that information is pointless.

Change: Status icons

As of FEK 4.3 status icons have been REMOVED! This is likely not permanent.

My reasons for doing this is as follows:

People on computers/mobile devices without FEK would show up as red/offline, even though they are actively posting
Badge space becomes very crowded for some people, and people will be getting season badges soon which will only make it more crowded

New: Roll the die

Typing [roll] will generate a random number 1 to 1000 in its place. This is for fun and maybe some people can think of some use for it.

New: Error handling

In the past, Riot would alter the Boards in such a way that it would break FEK. This is extremely annoying because announcements then fail to work so nobody knows what's going on. Now whenever something goes wrong, FEK will gracefully recover itself and continue on and an error message will be left in the upper-right corner of the screen.

New: Favorite icons

You can now customize the Champion/Spell/Item icons! Select your favorites from the FEK control panel by pressing the ~ button. Note that not all items are available, because of the sheer amount that exist.

New: Hide boards from main page

Do you visit the main page often, but just don't care about some Boards? Select "Hidden Boards" on the FEK control panel and check all Boards that you would like to hide.

Bugs fixed

For now, deleted posts will always show themselves due to complications with nested posts in Discussion View.
A really bad bug appeared today that not only screwed up the formatting of thread titles, but also made avatars stop appearing whenever you switched pages within a thread. This was a result of Riot slightly changing how things worked in their Boards, so I have adapted FEK in order to make it work again. The image below shows the bugged version without the 4.2.1 update.

A bug existed where only one YouTube video would automatically embed itself in a thread. I have fixed this now so that all YouTube videos will embed themselves properly. Before and after images below.

There was a bug where blacklisted users would still disappear even if you disabled the blacklist option. That has been fixed now.

FEK Features

You can customize FEK to your liking and turn off some features if you don't like them by using the Control Panel.

Avatars and Status Icons

As seen in the first post, there are status indicators. There are many different avatar size options from 100x100 to 200x200.

Fallback Avatars

If you would rather not see a person's summoner icon if they don't have a FEK avatar, multiple options are available to replace those. Fizz's Trident, Poro, and Happy Cloud.

User Pop-up

When you hover your mouse over somebody's avatar, a pop-up box will appear. In it will be many useful links:

View Profile: Opens up their board's profile in a new window
View Avatar: Opens up their FEK avatar in a new window
LoLNexus: Opens up their LoLNexus page in a new window
OP.GG: Opens up their op.gg page in a new window
Blacklist: Adds/Removes them from your blacklist

This feature is integral to FEK and can only be disabled if you disable avatars.

Enhanced Voting

Hover your mouse over somebody's votes and it will display either the total votes on the post/thread, or it will show individual upvotes and downvotes. By default, the latter is selected but you can toggle it in the FEK control panel.

When you hover your mouse over a thread, a new popup box now appears instantly. Furthermore, champion/item/summoner icons are now displayed as well so you no longer have to see something like !Fizz

New: Friends/Private Messaging System (BETA)

So there's only one thing in this update that differs from the previous one, and that is the private messaging system. Keep in mind that this is an extremely early version of this feature, and will be changing drastically over the course of many updates. As of right now it's quite rough around the edges which is why I put (BETA) above.

For example, there are no alerts or notifications when you get a friend request or PM, but that is something I will be adding next to make the whole system a lot more manageable.

took me quite a while to figure out that I still had 3.0 installed lol

Edit: I would advise you to put a little note near the top that you need to uninstall Fek 3.0 if you want 4.0 to work since it seems that a lot of people are having that problem

Bug Fix: Blacklisting

There was a bug where blacklisted people would still have their threads appear on a Boards index. This has now been fixed.

Another change is that the blacklist on the FEK control panel now updates when you click on the tab, rather than you needing to refresh the page.

Two additional things I am currently working on:

Minimizing posts in Discussion View
Buggy .webm avatars

Since .webm avatars are currently bugged, I have replaced a couple people's .webms with .gifs. I'll put their .webms back once the bug gets fixed.

Server is fine, so I suppose Riot must have just pushed a change to the Boards which completely messes FEK up.

There was a problem that remained when Riot changed the style of the Boards about a month ago which caused FEK to not send new usernames to the database. This meant there would be issues I'd need to manually fix whenever a person got a name change so that their avatar would update.
