k hear me out, today i wanted to play a few ranked games. in the first one everyone picked their lanes in que except last pick who locked in leblanc, picked smite and said he was going jungle even though we already had a jungle xin, just to troll. i didn't wanna play with him so i just dodged. 5 minutes later i played another game as mid malz, did pretty well, we won and i was ready for my next game. so while i was on que my internet disconnected, it does that sometimes (usually once everyday for a few seconds) it was my turn to pick when that happened and the timer ran out before i could reconnect so i ended up dodging for the second time that day even though it wasn't intentional. either way it counted as a dodge i lost some lp and couldn't play for 30 minutes. that was bs, i get that riot don't like people leaving ques but sometimes its necessary, not everyone has godlike internet and not everyone has the patience to play with a troll who is literally just there to mess up your game and everyone's good time. either way i can't stress this enough but riot should get rid of all punishments that involve leaving que before a game starts that's it, so please do that riot. please

Literally, stupid. Then you just have people leaving over and over again when they don't get the role they want. Or the champion they want. Or it's Tuesday and that's just what they do on Tuesdays. Dodging should have a penalty and quite frankly if you can't rely on your internet constantly then you should be avoiding ranked to begin with. Your connection issues aren't Riot's responsibility nor is it the other people in the game who are responsible for that.

I listened, but I'm going to have to disagree with you for a number of reasons.

  1. Just because someone autolocks what they want does not mean you have to dodge, even if that means you walk away with a loss. It's your choice to dodge the Champion Selection, no one else. Also something to note, Queue is not spelled 'que'. Que means "what" in Spanish, not queue which is simply a line you wait in. You also pick champions in the Champion Selection, not the Queue. There is no punishment for leaving the Queue, except during the "Join Match" part. Anyway, dodging is no one's choice but your own.
  2. If someone picks something out of the ordinary or a position someone else called, you should just go with it. If they are a terrible player and did it to troll / "For the LOL's", kindly ask your team and the enemy team to report the player at the end of the match. That way, you help eliminate the problem rather than trying to get away from it.
  3. No one is asking for you to get Godlike internet. Unless you have Time-Warner then I pray for you because I've heard horror stories about their services. In any case, if your internet goes out for a few seconds, how'd you miss the timer? You've got about 60 seconds. If you know you are having Internet issues, stay away from Ranked matches until it subsides.
  4. Let's say Riot took away all punishments and consequences for leaving Champion Selection (again, not the Queue). Every game you would get into, if someone did not get the position they wanted, they would dodge immediately. Then you have a system where no Ranked games are played. That does not seem fair, is it?
  5. The punishments and consequences of dodging are perfectly fine where they are. The more you dodge, the higher the punishment goes.

My point being League of Legends is about cooperation and communication. If someone really wants a position, you should consider letting them have it rather than force them into a role they're uncomfortable with. Otherwise, you can end up in a scenario like yours again.

TL;DR - Do not dodge Ranked Matches, learn the difference between the Queue and Champion Selection, do not play Ranked Matches with unstable internet, keep the system now, be more open in Champion Selection, and enjoy League of Legends.

Stay safe out there, fellow Summoner.

Actually something that just came to my mind would be to install a kick option or something along those lines that would be available in champion select. Say for instance you get that troll that decides to pick something intending to ruin the game such as the LeBlanc in your case, you would have the option to kick that person out or end the queue.

The way I see it working best would be everyone is given one vote that they can use on a teammate. Once you vote on a teammate, you cannot change your vote and it would stay on that one person. If one player on a team receives either three or four votes before the game begins, everybody will be returned to the queue.

I would not say punish the player voted on because there are those that do not play by the meta and still perform their role well. This way if enough teammates are not willing to play with this person, they are not punished for it other than having to wait to get queued up with another team. Also if three or four people voted on that one person, it also allows them to restart their queue to avoid being matched up with them again.

I think this would be fair in some sense so long as it required either three or all four teammates to vote on that one 'troll' in champ select to restart the queue. This would help reduce people from trolling in games and also give those four people to avoid playing with that toxic player in the pregame lobby that declares ahead of time that they are going to troll/feed/afk before the game begins.

Also something that could prevent people from just abusing this to avoid playing better team comps would be to punish a player if they get 'kicked' multiple times in a specified time period.
