Riot Trying to Make the Game too Easy?

So the video above talks about the upcoming ahri nerfs and brings up a really interesting point concerning ryze and ahri. The nerf is essentially making it so that ahri's charm cannot interrupt dashes but that mechanic is not very easy too pull off and requires some experience. Likewise, when they changed ryze in the last patch, they said that the difference between a "new" ryze and a "veteran" ryze is too much and that's why they tweaked him. But is it not logical for a veteran to be better? I just wanted to hear more people's opinions when it came to the past few changes that riot has been introducing.

It's like it took "Skill" for the Ryze player, it was legit just how fast you can push the buttons and have a order thats perfect and works every time. That comes down to micro seconds, its not like landing a good skill its just , using the correctly skill order really fast. Basically just a matter of who can do it the fastest. Which isn't a very good way to reward a player for skill.

Welcome to modern gaming, where everyone is a winner. If a moron can't do as well as a veteran, well, they'll somehow force things into parity. ^^

The change to Ahri's charm was just a consistency thing; other forms of forced-action CC (fear, taunt) don't interrupt dashes, but the Charm did. It wasn't intended as a nerf to Ahri, just something to make her charm work the same way as other forms of CC like it.

It does make sense for players to get better at a champion as they go: just look at Azir. For Ryze, though, the learning curve is too steep to be healthy: in the hands of a new player, he's unusably bad (with a winrate in the upper 30s), but at the same time, he was also pick or ban in the LCS for the last few weeks. His curve is so steep that balancing him for both environments (high and low skill) is impossible; he'll either be broken at high levels or pathetic at low ones. The changes are working towards moderating that power curve so that he can be healthy (or at least healthiER) at all levels of play.
