Concept for a Pre-Game Ping Checker

There have been countless times where people's internets have been bad on some occasion, which is fair enough. However, if Riot added a small application to the league of legends client where by we could see what our ping would be like after a 1-2min test, it would be so much better for everyone. I really wish someone from Riot sees this and maybe puts the idea forward on behalf of the community. What do you guys think? Do you want to know your ping before you are in game and it is too late?
