Bullies and your system, Riot

I don't often report when I'm in a sound state of mind (I.E. I'm not mega tilted), because I know that most of the stuff I see is just people who are frustrated, upset, or totally sick to death of something (stuff that happens to me rather often). Very rarely do I come across someone who doesn't fall under these, or takes it too far (use of hate speech/homophobic-racial slurs).

Now the first thing I was greeted with yesterday when I start up League and get into ranked after work is the good old: "Mid or Feed" by the guy in last pick. Now without even considering the other 3 people I knew this would be an issue, as I myself prefer mid, and the disgusting thing is, is that I started considering my other options. Now the first player on our team locks in Ahri, calls mid, and this guy goes off. "They went mid, time to feed" "Feeding activated" etc. etc. He ends up with support as the last option, he takes Kennen with Ignite. Right there is a great example of the first problem with your system, Riot. THERE'S NO WAY TO STOP THESE PEOPLE. THERE'S NO OPTION IN LOBBY TO KICK A PLAYER, SO PEOPLE LIKE HIM CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS.

The second we are in game: [All] Kennen: "READY TO LOSE GAY%%%S?" or something like that. Now lucky for me it was my first game of the night, so I didn't say anything because even though it certainly didn't feel like he had any intention of settling down, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. That is until the Dorans Blade start and he runs top to annoy Vayne. Now I should mention that Vayne was either already a bit tilted or not much better than Kennen, but he asked pretty casually for Kennen to just go bot. I can't remember what exactly he said in response but there was certainly an insult and "I'm staying here" attitude about it. Vayne seemed to grit her teeth and start the game.

I won't go into much more as far as specifics, but to get an idea, Kennen stayed top, both annoying and harassing Vayne, trying to set her up to get reported by the other team, as well as just being a general tool. About 15 minutes into this. I was absolutely livid. NEVER BEFORE have I met someone this toxic. He isn't a player, he isn't angry or frustrated, he is a bully, and god I hate bullies sooooooo much. But you know what Riot? Because of your system. I. COULD. NOT. SAY. A. WORD. I had to watch as Vayne, Ahri, Jinx, whoever he felt like was harassed CONSTANTLY, and all the while knowing that IF I SPOKE A WORD AGAINST HIM, there would have been a very likely chance of getting reported myself. This leads us to the next problem with your system: PLAYERS CANNOT DEFEND THEMSELVES.

Your system has no compassion at all, and can and does, lump people who make effort to make others miserable and people who are just trying to defend themselves (or even others) together.

Now I know what you think about this Riot. You think it works, and yeah, maybe for the people who aren't bullies. For the people who are, it does nothing. In today's world, everyone is too easily protected, you can hardly disagree with someone any more without someone getting offended, and this has changed how bullies need to be dealt with. It's something maturity would suggest and the generation before us thought, is that the best way to deal with bullies is to ignore them, It doesn't work. Bullies now get an overwhelming sense of power by going basically unchallenged asides from the occasional slap on the wrist "don't do it again", which frankly they don't give 2 shits about. THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE CHALLENGED. THEY NEED TO BE TOLD, CRUELLY AND HARSHLY THAT NO ONE WILL SIMPLY BEND OVER BECAUSE THEY SAY SO.

And for us players who would want to deliver sweet justice to these people, this system, your flawless system, Riot. It stops us from doing so.
