4GB vs 8GB Ram in macbook air?

Ok so I am looking to get a macbook air. I found a brand new macbook air with 256gb storage, and 4gb ram 1.6ghz i5 for $750 from someone local. I also found a different one with 128gb storage, 8gb ram and 1.6ghz i5 for $840 brand new, that is a black friday deal. Question is, does 4gb SIGNIFICANTLY lower fps in world of tanks? Is it worth paying more for the 8gb? I don't run many programs at once, its just strictly for the 1 game I am running at a time. Will 4gb hold me back? Does ram lower overall fps? I mainly just want to play smaller games such as league of legends and world of tanks. Also please don't say get a PC. I am getting a macbook no matter what, I just want to know if its worth it to get 8gb ram. Thanks!

I mean, just the techie in me is screaming "why would you pay that much for those specs" but if you plan on getting one or the other, the 8gb device seems to be a better investment, if only for the fact that 4gb is bare minimum for gaming. Just... Ugh, that's like 300 bucks in parts at most, at least compared to a desktop. Why are macs so expensive?

As far as FPS goes when it comes to RAM, it's important that you have enough. Too little and things wont work properly (lower fps being the best case scenario) and too much doesn't magically increase FPS, applications will only use as much as they require. Which is why 4GB is a bare minimum, your OS, things like Skype or Discord that you may be using, as well as any bloatware that runs in the background all use up RAM. 8GB is a sweet spot between too little and too much for most users.

If you want higher FPS, you're gonna want to pay more attention to the GPU and CPU, which I shouldn't need to explain. But uh, an i5 running 1.6ghz sounds kind of archaic for that price range. Anyways, after a quick search, I think either device can run your game and with minimum difference between the two. So, if you ONLY plan on playing WoT, go for the 4GB device.

more ram always better.

laptops are hard to upgrade after being built..

1.6 ghz i5? is this 2011? Unless you're going for the look of a mac, you would be much better off getting a windows pc and installing os x on it, assuming you prefer the functionality of os x over windows.

regardless, if you're set on one of those two, you would be better off going for more ram. It's easier to get more storage than it is more ram in the case of laptops.
