Galactic Conquest: Clone Wars

One of my boys and I wanted to play Galactic Conquest for Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) on steam right? Turns out that GC isn't supported in multiplayer. So what do I do? I make a map of the star system for the Clone Wars GC. Of course I had to modify a couple of the rules to make everything make sense, and had to do away with buying upgrades/training units. Furthermore all of the games have to be manually set up, and the board movement is done outside of Battlefront, but I've been dying for some classic Galactic Conquest action. This is the closest that I've been able to come to recreating the epic feeling of playing against your friends. So here's how it works:

  1. Players decide which faction they want between The CIS and The Republic
  2. Each player controls the 3 of the 13 planets that they start with in their respective solo GC modes. The other 10 planets on grey are "neutral" and will join the faction of the first of the players to reach it without a fight.
  3. At the start of each player's turn they will receive a certain amount of credits for each planet that they control (I'm not sure what a fair amount would be, I was thinking 50) and may choose to construct a fleet at any planet under their control for a sum of 1000 credits. For the player's turn, they may move one of their controlled fleets one space. If the space is occupied by an enemy controlled fleet, a space battle is triggered. If The space is occupied by an undefended enemy planet, a planetary battle on the planet's map is triggered.
  4. If you win a space battle, the enemy fleet is destroyed. If you lose a space battle, your fleet is destroyed. The victor gains 200 credits (again, this just sounds fair) and the loser loses none. If you control no fleets, you may construct one for free at any of your planets for free at the start of your next turn.
  5. If you win a planetary battle on an enemy controlled planet, it becomes yours and you gain 500 credits and the opponent loses 100 credits (or two turn's worth). If you win a planetary battle on one of your own planets, the invading fleet is destroyed and they lose 50 credits while you gain 250 credits.
  6. The game ends when one player's faction is in control of the entire galaxy. GGWP

I have yet to play-test this, as my boy has gone silent on me. If anyone would like to help me test out this system or otherwise help me to establish good and healthy credit values, I would be very much appreciative. You can comment or add me on LoL if you're interested. IGN: Firebeard
