A recount of Season 6 (Get your nostalgia on)

I can't believe that Season 6 is finally over. Ranked has closed for the season, people are finally reaping the rewards they sowed for the entire year (or not if they though that League's penalty system was anything like TF2's system in 2012).

Wuks made a post similar to this but unlike him I can be more....open.... as what actually happened, and I can tell it from my (boosted bonobo) point of view. I'm going to recount the major (and maybe not so major) points this season that made the season differ from seasons prior. I have to be honest, I have been playing for 3 (now 4) seasons now and I can say that this season was not as sunshine and rainbows in comparison to seasons 4 and 5. There were definitely problems we as a community (and yes, even Riot itself) faced that defiantly made some of us consider (or actually) quit league of legends. Despite that, those who stayed for the ride ended up not regretting their decision and are ready and waiting for the whole season that lies ahead of us.

Anyways, i'm digressing, here is a summary of what happened season 6 and my (personal) experiences to go along. Please feel free to comment on any moments you think I missed, or any emotions and though you have thought the season.

  • The introduction of the preseason. Yayyyyyyyyyyy new stuff! I called it "Christmas 2.0", new jungle items, new this new that, it was a TON of stuff to digest and was a complete blast in experimenting with all the stuff Riot put on the table for us the screw around with.

  • Keystone Masteries. they looked pretty cool until literally everyone and their mother saw how insane Warlords Bloodlust was and everyone else used Thunderbirds Decree. I personally liked Grasp of the Undying and then I was a Top lane only main and used primary Tanks and Bruisers. My stance on them was generally neutral and after the initial balance chances, I kind of liked them.

  • The release of Jhin, the dude obsessed with the number 4 Virtuoso. Amazing champion, and provided with a more unique playstyle style. He also became one the most used champions in memes, I think you know why :).

  • The update of Shen. I think it was a general consensus that there were definitely other champions that should have been updated instead of him and even now he's just an E and R. It wasn't bad, but I think that it could of been better and it took a lot of people by surprise when they announced his update.

  • Dynamic Que https://marciokenobi.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/untitled-42.gif .....Sigh .... an idea that was not thought out, and something that should of stayed an idea. just my opinion but this was NOT well received by the general community. Came out with a tons of problems, including the inflation of higher ranks thought the ranked ladder. Definitely a dark mark in the season, and casted a dark cloud over most of the season. A great loss of players and a loss of faith in Riot from the players that decided to stay.

  • The introduction of Clubs. Generally a cool idea, and despite people using it to create offensive club names I found it a cool mechanic and It allowed me to help coordinate friends to play games together.

  • Minion collision... as a person who used a ton of melee champs this was my overall option: http://www.relatably.com/m/img/table-flipping-meme/49389583.jpg

  • Hextech update: The communites Initial reaction to it: EWWWW Paying for more things EWWWWW. The communities reaction after realizing you could get a ton of stuff from it without paying a cent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjUqUVrXclE

I'm going to upload the rest of this post after I do more digging through my mind/the patch notes.

Happy reading! :)
