Actually iirc, Kratos named his son Atreus because he once had a spartan soldier named Atreus. The soldier Atreus was a really positive and outgoing guy (all the way until the day he died), and so Kratos chose to name his son after him because Atreus always brought him happiness.
He was a baker all along.
