This blew up on the EUW boards, where most people hated on Tyler. Let's see how people do it here.

This dude has a decent size fan base and, whether he wants it or not, is a public figure for league of legends. If Riot lets someone troll/rage in front of that many viewers with no consequences, then Riot would have a serious problem on their hands. They were even kind enough to let this person play the game multiple times after multiple bans, yet he still makes the same mistakes over and over.

If this game was that important to him, he wouldn't let something like rage/trolling ruin his ability to play the game. Actions speak louder than words, and his actions have spoken. The amount of forgiveness Riot gave to this person should show that he has had his time to change and go a different direction, but raging/trolling was obviously more important. Hell, most people don't get the amount of chance he has been given, especially someone in the public eye.

If Riot's decision is to forever ban him then I'd support it. Nothing against Tyler specifically, but more so towards anyone who rages/trolls.

There is no reason to ever ruin the game for others. No sympathy given for anyone who goes out of their way to ruin someones enjoyment for no reason.

this person was constantly toxic and got banned from multiple accounts he doesn't deserve to play the game anymore if this happened to a normal person without idiotic fans they would never be allowed to play this game again he shouldn't get special treatment because hes popular I also know for a fact this comment is going to get downvoted by brain dead fans of his

That video was cringy, worse is the fact that someone put all that work into editing and compiling footage for an apology on behalf of a successful and well-paid entertainer who likely doesn't even know him on any level, what a poor use of your personal time. If Tyler wants to be unbanned the apology has to come from him directly.

This dude messed up one of my games on my alt account. Literally plat 1 on a 6 win streak, then this guy comes in asking for bot lane, didnt get bot lane, so he decided to play corki mid and intentionally run it down mid. We lost because of him trolling, and I was tilted after that. I hope he stays banned for at least 3 years.

He made his bed. He has to sleep in it.

He was banned on what 20+ accounts? When he would get his 14 day bans he would just jump on a different account and keep playing so at this point he has actually cumulatively served his 14 day bans once over and a bit.

How long should his perma bans be worth? Because if they unban him now they are worth about 377 (days since banned) - 14*~20 (time actually serving his 14 day bans) /~20 = ~5 days each.

If the perma bans are worth as much as the 14 day bans he has another 6 months to go, but perma bans should take longer than 14 day bans for sure. How much longer they should be is up to riot. (HINT they wont set that precedent that banned players get to come back)

Unlike players like Jensen who actually were permabanned (and still unbanned anyway, for what that says about permabans), Tyler 1 is just indefinitely banned, meaning he's banned for as long as Riot wants him to be.

Also this is a tweet from Rioter/LCS Caster "Zirene" who recently played a game with Tyler1 (please read the comments that follow that tweet as well) https://twitter.com/LoLZirene/status/862826648189652992

As a long time viewer of Tyler I can confidently say that there is nothing he enjoys more than playing/streaming this game. Often he has pulled 30+ hour gaming sessions into league because he is just that invested. I think if he were given one more chance he wouldn't dare mess it up but in the end it is up to Riot.

Tyler1 was a toxic asshole that ruined games for those that he flamed...but he was our toxic asshole that ruined games for those that he flamed. I agree that he should have been banned, wholeheartedly. But now...

Now, he's just an asshole. And just like before, he's our asshole. Let's see how this works, eh?

While Riot is firm on their decision, at the same time Riot is a company/group that really likes seeing change and progress. While I'm not sure this is enough to prove that Tyler's completely changed his path, Riot should look at his new behavior and see how he's been acting to see if he's worth checking into for possible punishment leniency.

Sure, he was banned 20+ times, but if someone really changes their attitude and can be a positive force in the community, why shirk that chance?

I would like to say one thing and my opinion probably won't be read or even considered in the topic of loltyler1's ban but I feel it would be a smart move to lift the ban of loltyler1. Before any harsh bashing or criticism, I have followed loltyler1 and am currently a big fan of his current behavior, game play, and content. Even as a fan I can remain unbiased by saying he definitely deserved the punishment that was given to him. His behavior on the rift was unacceptable and something had to be done. I agree with a lot of what this video is trying to portray(minus the cringy-ness) and I feel if Riot Games was to lift this ban that not only would Riot Games be viewed as a company with a strict tolerance for upholding the Summoner's Code but also a company founded on empathy and forgiving the mistakes that were made in the heat of battle. On the other side I believe un-banning loltyler1 will give him a chance to redefine himself and the image that he has created. It will allow him to be the bigger person we all know he is today and erase this stigma. I know he will not let us down, his fans.

Good riddance. The world needs rules and guys like him don't need to be playing this game.

subhuman team XD5/12/2017, 11:38:02 PM1 votes

even zirene himself admited that tyler is reformed in his twitter when he played with him , he said and i quote "Absolutely. Was interesting as well because he played off-role and also didn't flame anyone in the game at all. I truly wonder if he changed" clearly there is no doubt that tyler has changed so i definitly believe he deserves a second chance.

Troll for Trump5/13/2017, 7:20:28 AM1 votes

Honestly, he has improved a lot since the past. A LOT. Enough that he's actually being somewhat of a good person now. Not just in this compilation, but in streams and other things.

Some people take two-week bans to realize they're mistake. Some people need permabans to reflect on themselves. Tyler1 needed...20 permas?

At this point, it's just deciding whether or not it's possible to be forgiven for his past actions.

As a youtuber, his content is..sometimes questionable, but it's interesting. A lot less repetitive than the "new OP builds" or whatnot nonstop League content that some Lol youtubers post. That's a good thing.

Look at some of his modern videos or drop in on a stream or two to decide what kind of person he is in his present state, rather than dwelling in the past.

EvilUnicornLord5/13/2017, 2:01:12 AM1 votes

I don't know enough about Tyler1 to put in my opinion. I just heard he was an incredibly salty and immature youtuber so I didn't bother watching him.

Pandemic Punch5/14/2017, 6:10:24 AM1 votes

If he is the next coming of Jesus Christ like all of these 12 year olds are making him out to be, he can be "reformed" elsewhere. He doesn't need League of Legends. The fact that his fans are taking this so seriously is really pathetic. It is up to Riot if they want him playing their game or not. If they un-ban him though, they would need to un-ban every "toxic" player they have ever banned to have any consistency on their stance.

You can't un-ban someone who has had over 20 accounts banned for constant toxicity and throws, while keeping another player banned for saying a few mean things in only 2-3 games.

Hatless Casual5/13/2017, 7:33:54 PM1 votes

The issue would be Riot most likely deletes accounts once "pera-banned" so getting his old one back is VERY unlikely. If he truly is reformed as he claims (seeing clips of him playing Overwatch I have reasonable doubts) he can level a brand new account from level 1.
