they used to give more free stuff but riot changed them to give way less free stuff and destroyed the amount of OE we get from disenchanting. That's why i'm mad

At least in Dark Souls mimics, as crappy as they are (they are pretty hard to kill, they almost 1 shot you if you get caught, and there are a bunch of them), don't ask you money to get past them, and their drops are guaranteed with only exception like the Mimic head gear (that is only useful if you want some soul power-farming or if you want some funny head-gear to troll people when you invade).

Chests in Souls are a million times better.

I think people fail to understand that Riot Games don't actually get to control most of what they do. They are mostly controlled by some Chinese company who want nothing but money. This is why Riot can't always make everyone happy like they want to.

This isnt a good argument really.

Anything that gives shards can also be bought with real money. This means by nerfing OE and disenchanting, the money spent on anything that gives shards also directly costs more, as you can get less with your purchase. And those chests/keys/capsules arent exactly cheap.

Sure, they may have nerfed it because people can get them for free, but it doesnt change the fact that they now cost more to anyone who paid actual money for them (ive bought quite a few). They should at least give a healthy amount of OE to all paid buys to counteract the nerf for people paying real money for them.

Eh. My beef is that I purchased my chests and sat on the shards not knowing the change was going to happen. Now the shards I paid for knowing the general value aren't worth what they should be worth.

The thing that triggers the community is not the fact that hextech chests are a pure joke nowadays, the real reason is that they were once actually decent and for no apparent reason this priviliege was taken away from the players

But isn't "getting expensive stuff cheaper" the whole point of gambling with chests? If unlocking a skin shard costs X currency while just buying the exact same skin costs 80% of X why would I ever spend money on chests?

So yes, Hextech chests are indeed crap targeted at lightening the wallets of players who fail at basic math.
