The "No CS, poke laner only" strategy storyline be like:

At this point when the item isn't possibly balanced properly anymore, they'll probably start punishing pro-players for doing it instead.

Oh yeah klepto is working great on ME, DRAVEN, THE ADC.. now who was my support again? Oh fuck that's right :(
I herd u lyk kleptomancy
You know you're not a support right?
Do you want me to not poke them?
Fuck this leaving lane
Double killllllll
so I heard you like kleptomancy
Damage on tribute was a mistake.
Would actually be interesting if this creates a 2-1-2 strategy and a jungler is replaced by a support with smite/summoner's spellbook.
is anyone seriously surprised by this point that the balance team just throws random shit into every patch without thinking and 3-4 patches later they are like "oh that didnt work out oh well. we alrdy fucked up more stuff so noone cares about this old shit"
The item has been balanced for years and the thing that makes it imbalanced is Kleptomancy getting two gold procs for no real reason and Riot deciding to base your bounties on cs
One kill becomes super rewarding when the game gives you 300 extra gold just for having less cs
I watched Spellthief in solo lane used like 4 times in pro play over the last week in the major regions, the strategy was 0-4. The only time Frostmancy resulted in a win was in bot lane where a Targon champion was there to pick up the creeps which would otherwise go to waste and feed some of the creep gold to the Frostmancer, ironically exactly where the ill-conceived Riot nerf didn't fix.
It's almost as if letting creeps go to waste is not terribly viable?
But hey, any chance to nerf support by reflex, gotta take it, right? Just. Riot. Signature. Things.

That's literally a sup
Tried it on lulu bot, pretty fun strat.
Now I didn't play for all of season 6, but I'm pretty sure that support itemization was much better then than it is now, maybe a revert is in order?
wouldn't it work better if the support just went top?
