I always notice the supports job sometimes they really helped me get out alive during a fight as 
sometimes. but when your playing a support hanging back in teamfights..sona ect ect it can be hard to see you and see what your doing. as leona naught braum and them are just right in there and you have to focus on them and see what they are doing... remember this game is so pixel with graphics and shit right now when a teamfight starts it just turns into button mashing because you dont know were the hell you are who you are and what your doing..it just looks like one big blob.

I have the exact opposite experience. Most of the time I duo with my brother, who is a filthy yas main and even when he is hardcarrying like crazy, all the credit goes to me the support (mostly as bard, zilean, soraka), which drives him crazy. I just told him that it´s his champs fault and if he played something that is not despised by like 60% of the community he would receive more recognition.
It's both ways.
A lot of times you play support with mad support skills that kept all allies fed and stomping as well as do that game-winning team CC and plays, and end the game with no honour.
Or,
Other times you literally carry and lift the entire team like old man Atlas, like literally the entire game you'd lifted, but then in the post-game lobby you realise you've received like 1 honour or even none.

There are a lot of factors playing into this though. So it's not like we can just generalise. But it definitely can be annoying to some extent.
The real compliment is when the enemy team accuses your ADC of Scripting, smurfing, or playing a broken OP "Kog'Maw." Because that as close as anyone will ever get to seeing you.
. . . Except the [smart] assassins. They just treat you like the daily goat sacrifice.
But when they do praise you, it's the best feeling in the world :')
