Why the heck do we have two diseases for the same symptoms?

Like, there's Diabetes, associated with blood sugar, insulin and how the body reacts to it.

Then there's Diabeetus, which is the same thing down to the symptom.

How exactly am I supposed to know the difference if they're the same thing just a different spelling/pronunciation?
