The Roles in League by Story Line Roles
Jungler AKA The Protagonist http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/berserk/images/3/35/Berserk_OST_-_Aria/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/185?cb=20160802000937 The most game altering member of the team. Many would believe the ADC is such, but this isn't true. The Jungler is key to securing almost every single objective in the game and holds the sole key to instantly being able to take all objectives from everyone but another Jungler, being Smite. Not only this, but they are the only role who has both largely uncontested farm and personal buffs to further enhance their champion. They are relevant at all stages of the game, as long as they don't fall terribly far behind, are the only role that is 24/7 feared by the enemy team. In fact, the mere presence of the Jungle is so significant that they are at least 75% of the reason why the Support role is even in Bottom Lane. Truly they are the most important character in this story as, at all stages of the story, they are a defining character.
Bottom Lane ADC AKA The Deuteragonist http://www.skullknight.net/encyclopedia/world/characters/skullknight.gif The second most game altering member of the team. The ADC is still important to the story but, compared to the Jungler, falls slightly below in importance as far as how they impact the game. Many believe they are more important than the Jungler in the long run, but the ADC is impacted by the Jungler even if they do not understand it. In the end, however, the Protagonist cannot win without the Deuteragonist and, likely, by the end of the story, many would likely question if the Protagonist was even needed. However, all who payed attention would know that both were needed in the end.
Bottom Lane Support AKA The Supporting Character http://statici.behindthevoiceactors.com/behindthevoiceactors/_img/chars/casca-berserk-5.41.jpg It could be said that they are the third most important, but the lines get blurry. Never the less, the Protagonist and Deuteragonist would have likely died off in the beginning if it wasn't for this character. Their existence is incredibly important in defining who the more central characters are in the story. While later on they might fall out of the spotlight, everyone knows and respects this character because they know that the more central characters would have failed long before they reached their prime if it weren't for them. To some, they are even the most important character in the entire story, even if the story doesn't actually revolve around them.
Top Lane AKA The Character That Everyone Makes a Meme Out of But Is Secretly Important (Sometimes known as Comic Relief) https://i.stack.imgur.com/u9iGh.jpg They are mainly there to make sure not all of the story is just a constantly serious bloodbath. In some stories, they succeed in their role in the story and end up being some of the most loved characters of all time. However... in other times... they might just end up ruining the entire part of story that they are in for some. Never the less, whether you like it or not, they exist, and, eventually, at the seemingly most random of times, they will likely eventually make a huge difference in the story. Sometimes in a tragic way, sometimes in a really epic way. Top Lane really has the most flexibility as far as how they alter the course of the story. It's entirely up to them to carve out how they put their name in the story.
Middle Lane AKA The Antagonist/Anti-Hero http://ajmartinezauthor.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/berserk-femto.jpg A role who's almost entire purpose is to stop the opposing team from winning despite being truly unable to win the game by themselves. They are the main roadblock in the opposing team's Protagonist and Deuteragonist's way. Whether it be an incredibly smart genius or an incredibly deadly shadow, their entire life revolves around stopping the opposing side. They are always at the center of everything and that will likely never change. When the story reaches it's climax, 90% of the time it is right in the Antagonist's own home of Middle Lane. It's always where those opposing them will group to attack first. While the Protagonist can usually beat them any time of the day (USUALLY), it's always what the Antagonist can do to the Protagonist's friends that makes them such a threat at the end of the day.
