I don't hate this suggestion, it's just wrong. Darius is a decent spot.

My suggestion is that we need more fun variety with runes. Maybe something utilizing the old system and the new. It's in an unfun spot right now imo.

Unpopular opinion: Tying back in to the whole Darius conversation, I think they need to really emphasive the whole "the longer he fights the stronger he is and weaker you are" aspect of him to make people actually have to think about how to beat him (looking at you Jax, you, fiora, etc). Aka, with more stacks he should apply moderate amounts of grievous wounds, enemy damage reduction, and a brief grounding effect at 5 stacks (like .5-1 seconds). If he needs compensating nerfs I think it would be worth it. The truth is that almost every champ playstyle counters Darius, but Darius does not counter nearly as many playstyles in return. It's usually on the enemy to mess up badly and not on Darius to outplay. He gets countered by: mobility, cc (every stinking kind because it's so easy to land on him), shielding/healing (deny ult), ability blocking, high dps, mixed damage (highly reliant on how and decent resistances to survive any length of time, but he has now natural tankiness and when he had to split resistances, they aren't nearly as effective), range, grievous wounds, etc. He's weak against split push comps, control mages comps, and peel comps, only decent against diving comps tbh. He excels at nothing bit damage, and only if the enemy is dumb enough to let you stack and q multiple enemies. He's not only weak against range, but against enemies too up close lmao, E is slow and q is easily dodged because it's telegraphed, plus his heal is tied to it, so good teams kite and does you in 3-4 secs and deny you the heal. I love Darius and he is good against noobs and misplays, but his ceiling is too low and I'd like to see that improves somehow.

Unpopular opninions? I like being able to build into early health regen, forcing enemies to play more aggressive and, hopefully, make more mistakes or else they lose the long term battle.

You will never know true joy until a Zed loses because his play style involves attacking you once every 2 minutes. But I guess the balance team decided being 'unkillable' is only fun for me and not the enemy, haha.

Darius is a bit of a mess.

He auto-counters almost all melee champions.

Ranged champions win if they can reliably bait out apprehends, lose if they can't.

Would be nice if some of his laning power could be taken away so that he is not unbearable to deal with during the laning phase yet a joke during teamfights if he failed to get >3 kills in lane.

I think Darius needs changes at least. I love a lot about playing him, but he really can't keep up versus competent enemies and teams. Too little mobililty, too telegraphed, highly delayed burst, etc.
