Is the "make a tank meta" thing actually happening, or just a strawman?
Tank meta's are bad unless Riot wants to put in the effort to nerf tank damages and rework "tanks" like Mundo and Garen. Champions like them are not a threat as a tank unless they have absurd amounts of damage because they lack any real forms of CC.
Remember Iceborn meta? Where assassins like Fizz and Ekko would build tank and stomp. That season was a yikes and a half.
Implying a tank meta is any better than a meta full of damage.
A meta arms race is not the best route. Because then the next damage meta that comes around will be significantly worse.
as someone who tries to play glass cannons. I don't feel there are any tanks. There are burst damage champs that are really tanky.
they aren't tanks because their damage is too high. They do the damage that AD and AP carries should be dealing but they get to have a million hitpoints on top of it.
Every glass cannon damage dealer i've ever been good with got nerfed into oblivion. But when I hit the brick wall against tanky burst damage champs, most of which have high mobility and mobility skills on top of it, get beat on tons and be fine but land just 1 combo and i'm dead, thats just them being skilled. It wasn't me being skilled when I was doing well with glass cannons, nope.
This game went to trash around the time of the juggernaut update. Prior to that, tanky damage dealers were already a genuine issue, but then riot instead of correcting course, made it a requirement to be a tanky damage dealer with mobility or be useless.
Or the better answer is that actually deal what is causing this damage creep so high and if you nerf it enough then tanks will come back as a viable option while not being the state they where in the last tank meta cause that was toxic as hell.
See the thing about tank metas is that the tanks never out-burst damage classes.
Now they uhh, do, sometimes. That's the opposite of good.
I want a tank meta again just for I can go Udyr top with klepto every game.
