I know this is just a joke, but it really misses the point. The problem is not that they say the boards suck, it's that they use it as an excuse to not come to the boards and that they make little to no effort to make the boards better.
And they absolutely could make the boards so much better. But it's not the job of individual designers to fix the boards, it needs to be a Riot effort, probably with a dedicated Rioter assigned to oversee it. But the money managers at Riot don't think it's worth the cost.
I think the "everything is fine" followed by the "corporate decision" meme would have about summed it up XD
