It's always possible for Garen to do well in that matchup, at least going even and sometimes turning into a steamroller that no amount of shrooms can stop, but it's never possible for that matchup to be enjoyable.
I hate going against Ekko and Yasuo. Kept banning Ekko because he feels worse to play against. I then thought maybe Ekko won't be so frequent in my elo and decided to start banning Yasuo after I had to play against him several games, so he won't be pain in my ass. Like 3 games later. They pick Ekko. The tilt intensifies.
And I wouldn't even say he's hard counter or anything, just both are annoying. Can't ban them both. If I ban one of them they usually pick the other. FML.

Go with an inspiration build with glacial and build Righteous Glory > Randuins.
