Much like Artorias from Dark Souls 1, who was already severely injured and almost dead before even meeting you, lost his mind and went berserk and simply ran around the arena without any tactics, had previously crippled his primary arm which led him to use use his weapon on his off-hand (and the absence of his shield, which he'd left behind for other story reasons), and not just himself but also all of his gears were visibly in a severely damaged state that seemingly could just shatter into pieces at any moment, and he still wiped the floor with your ass anyway. So much for being a Chosen Undead who boasts they'd killed dragons, demons, and gods before meeting Artorias.
Speaking of hunters, we should also mention Gough. The hunter who couldn't see but could land arrow shots from his greatbow with unbelievable precision, dead center on an ancient dragon, one of the last still living dragon by that time and also one of the strongest to ever live, in a single try after unknown length of inactivity (presumably at least decades), and with force great enough it instantly crippled the said dragon and made an almost impossible fight actually possible for you. Gough could've killed it solo any time, but chose to ignore it only due to a general loss of motivation and finding new meaning in stone carving he's been newly obsessed with.
"I'm a poor old man, I can do no harm...What? That gigantic scythe right there? Nothing to worry about, trust me"
Tonight, Gehrman joins the hunt!
