Why not Smite mid lane?

I'd like to hear his thoughts and reasons on using smite mid lane ?

In champion selection I get flamed on , I'd say 75% in Duo . I find it quite useful or cannons, minions opponents ,Drake scuttle Rift, mainly used for smite for rang snaging Canon and early Lane phase also becomes quite useful against super minions,

The way I see it I get much more use out of this spell, and not to mention helping up the jungle is crucial robbing is Scuttle from opponent or helping out our jungler if struggling with the scuttles and rift , to me it seems to be quite the advantage

You're using smite as a crutch for you inability to cs properly. You're wasting a summoner spell that could otherwise be giving you kill pressure with ignite, map pressure with tp, survivability with cleanse/heal/barrier, etc etc. The benefits of smite in lane are far outweighed by almost every other summoner spell. You can't even buy a jungle item because of the massive reduction in gold you get from csing

because combat spells and teleport are always more valuable. using smite as a crutch for your inability to last-hit does not make it a good choice
