The river riddle

You have a canoe, a cat, a chicken, and a bag of bird seed that all need to cross a river. It is your job to ensure all four entities make it across intact.

Rules: The canoe can only hold one entity at a time. The chicken will eat the seed if those two entities are left alone (that is, the canoe and the cat are on the other side). Obviously, the job will fail should this happen. The cat will eat the chicken if they are left alone, much like the above condition. Again, the job will fail should this happen. There is no limit as to how many trips you may take. Time is on your side.

How do you do this?

Chicken across, then cat, take chicken back across again, then seed, then return for the chicken.

Take the bridge to cross the river.
