I have never played a board game like this is $75 US a lot?
Feels like $75 plus shipping is crazy, but Idk.

No, it is actually fairly cheap for what you get. Similar products cost about $90 to $100.
EDIT: Actually, after looking at all the components in multiple reviews I'd say a game like this would easily break $100 normally. The miniatures are pre-painted and/or pre-washed. They also have a huge mini, some metal tokens, and a sand timer. It would probably be like $120 at retail.
It's actually pretty fair for this kind of game with a TON of parts.
That's actually cheap compared to most. (D&D)
Eh, miniature games are pretty expensive. This one is decently priced.
Most largely produced commercial ones will go from $60 to $120.
Other Miniature based board games. None of these games come with painted miniatures or minis with a wash on them.
A wash is the what was done to add some depth to the minions. You can see where the black paint is on the figure? That is from a wash so it doesn't look so flat.
Zombicide - $80 USD for main game - 71 minis (32mm size) Super Dungeon Explorer Deluxe bundle - $75 USD - 47 minis (40mm ish) Star Wars Imperial Assault - $75 (MSRP $100) - about 30 minis I believe (25-30mm)
Look up Agricola, its parts, and its price. Great fucking game, but MvM looks cheap as hell in comparison (pricewise, not componentwise).

Other games which also use large numbers of plastic miniatures tend to cost more for similar amounts of stuff. People who review similar hobby board games are going nuts over how much stuff is in the box for 75 dollars.
But board game pricing is highly variable because of print runs. Traditional wargames using cardboard counters and paper or thin card maps are often very expensive for their component quality because they have only small print runs, and thus there is no cost savings for volume. For example, one wargame company has a system where they move one of their games into production based on getting 500 preorders. Obviously, they expect to sell to more, but that's still a long way from the 30k initial print run that Riot seems to planning for this game.
The Mage Knight Board Game is my current favorite. Here is the back of the box showing the contents. It had an initial suggested retail price of $90 apparently (we didn't pay that much). So it's not like 75 dollars is crazy for the hobby board game market. Not all hobby board games (as opposed to the monopolies and such that are everywhere) are that pricey, but the market definitely supports products that are expensive if they are big and strategically hefty or if they come with tons of plastic minis (or both).
considering how many items you get it's not that much actually. you get 2 decks of cards a bunch of minions made out of what appears to be plastic 4... maybe 5 mech models all highly detailed and crafted after the league of legends yordles - except gnar lulu veigar poppy and a few others - basically hemierdinger tristana ziggs corki and possibly rumble a bunch of grid like boards with designs that are different 4 large card trays. some gem looking crystals 2 dice and even more. that's a lot of stuff. monopoly costs $30 if you get a modern version with the paper money
Depends on the quality of the miniatures, really. Cool Mini or Not games go for 100 bucks minimum with high quality minis
I challenge anyone to find a game with this many miniatures in the game and it be under $100. I can also guarantee the pieces wont be painted. People here are definitely saying the game is cheap and good value, but the value of this game cannot be overstated. $75 is an absolute steal. You just have to watch a video or two on Youtube about the people unboxing the game and their disbelief about what is in the game for the price. When this game does hit the market, it will INSTANTLY become the absolute best game from a component standpoint.
