Riot, Explain why having more bans in ranked is not a solution to your inability to balance the game

I doubt you can do it.

It's a way to have balanced gameplay with your inactive patch style, Where you keep saying "champ x is the bar we compare all others in that role to, and where we would like to see others brought to. BUT, we won't do anything to make any progress towards that goal for 9 months."

If we can ban enough champions, the game might see some actual champion diversity, because it's forced by banning all the champs everyone jumps on because you refuse to make balance changes to them or to others in a timely manner.

I've seen Cho'gath, Urgot, Galio, plenty of Syndra, some Janna, Nautilus, and Nunu. And that is just today. Champion diversity is out there and exists. I don't care how "balanced" a game is, there will always be favorite and more "in" picks.

Also, if I was a Rioteer, I would have zero interest in talking with someone that brings the sort of negativity and attitude to a post that you do. You're more than welcome to your opinion, I actually want more bans in draft pick myself, but how you go about it is a bit distasteful, and this isn't the first time you've worded and posted in this manner. Try something more constructive and maybe someone will jump in on the post?

Adding more bans seems like a valid way to increase champion diversity but it will also make it so some champs never see the light of day, as you increase the number of bans that means more champions can become "instabans"

"champ x is the bar we compare all others in that role to, and where we would like to see others brought to. BUT, we won't do anything to make any progress towards that goal for 9 months."

I have only ever seen this used as far as fighters are concerned and they have been admitted to be in a bad state and notoriously difficult to balance without killing. Please provide a source or you're just using statements out of context, which is manipulative and already a bad way to start an argument in my book. But that's me nitpicking at a personal pet peeve.

Overall I kiiiinda like the idea of additional bans but it isn't a solution to your problem. I think you underestimate the playerbase. We will find a way to stagnate champion and composition diversity, simply because we gravitate towards what we know works. Now this changes over skill range and over time, as it does now, and yes increased ban options will mean a greater chance you'll have to adapt, but I can easily see nothing really changing and the same 6(+2, +4, +6) bans being relatively consistent and 'standard' comps being derived from the remains.

There is also the fact that Red StrikeO did very well to point out. If you though Kass's ban rate was bad, imagine what would happen to the champs that are deemed insta bans. I doubt anyone at Riot and the majority of the playerbase not wanting to have 1,2, or even 3 champions banned for the majority of every game (except maybe Teemo, but that's Teemo). And before anyone says "well then that means they're OP and should be balanced", whether these unfortunate sods are OP or not doesn't matter, it's the fact that they are popular. Poppy is technically the strongest champ in the League gameplay wise, but isn't inherently popular and therefore not banned. Insta-banning =/= OP, insta-banning = popular.

The Renekton bar is a thing. I will give you that. This isn't really the case in other lanes. At the pro level, diversity is a lot lower than at the community level because there are (obviously) less pros than there are regular players. From personal experience, I've ran both Aatrox jungle and Udyr jungle with feral flare where you would usually see only 5 main junglers at the pro level (Evelynn, Kha,Nocturne, Elise, Xin Zhao).

And also, I think this has been stated in the other comments, but your way of going about asking for information is not in any way likely to receive positive feedback from the community. Before you make a post I suggest you take a deep breath and ask yourself how it might be received.
