Ranked AFK Loss Prevention - rito pls

It's a ridiculous and terrible feeling to have a game be 4v5, almost even, and only lose because of an AFK. Clearly with the fifth player a team could win, or at least stand a chance. I propose a few possible solutions for this incredibly frustrating problem:

  1. Obviously everyone would love a loss prevention in the case that a teammate locks in and then is just AFK from level 1. This may not be the most plausible idea for any number of reasons, though I can't personally think of any reason this would be fully impossible.

  2. Aligning very well with the team builder theme, I propose a queue be made exclusively for players who just want to fill the void left by an AFK. Here's how it could work...

  • If by 5:00 on the game clock, the AFK player has not returned, that player of course receives an automatic loss, and his champion/position becomes available for filling.

  • To mitigate gold/experience lost in lane, if a player is fully disconnected and has already received the 1000 armor/MR buff, allow for retroactive passive experience and additional gold gain.

  • Finally, to negate the real possibility of jumping into a game that is already a guaranteed loss, the open position should only stay open until about 10:00. Combined with the additional passive gold and experience gain, a team that would otherwise be guaranteed a loss may actually stand a chance.

Regardless of a loss prevention program or an additional queue for filling AFK positions, I believe that a gold/exp buff to disconnected players should be added in the rare instances that an AFK returns to the game.

Hopefully someone reads this...

Regarding your second idea, replacing disconnected players in a ranked game would be problematic for the same reasons that ELO boosting is problematic. Riot forbids playing on someone else's account even if you are ranked lower than they are (e.g. a Bronze II player playing on someone else's Gold V account). To illustrate why, let me give an example:

You are in a golf tournament. You're doing really well, but on the 12th hole, you have to leave. So they decide to let a member of the audience, who is an amateur golfer, take your place. Let's say that he plays really well on the last few holes, and your score and his score put together beats a existing world record. Now the question pops up, whose world record is it? You played the first 12 holes, but without that audience member playing for you for the last holes, there probably wouldn't have been a world record. It's quite likely that it would not be officially counted as a world record at all.

It works the same way in Ranked. If someone else starts playing for you after, and they win, should the win count for their ranked stats or yours? You still contributed in champion select to the outcome of the game. And what if you were doing a role that isn't normally your best role, such playing as adc when you normally play mid, but the player replacing you mains adc? They would have an unfair advantage.
