Cho'gath and his insta kill thresh-hold animation

I've been wondering for a while now and thought I might voice my opinion about it. The instant kill thresh-hold on Cho'gaths ulti has an animation that surrounds the enemy champion(s) once they are under a % of health, I know basically everyone is aware of this but what I don't know/I have never tried to find out about is if the animation shows for just Cho'gath or if it shows for everyone, in the case that it shows for only the person playing Cho'gath I would personally consider that a little bit broken. Reason why; I was against a Tryndamere in top lane as Cho'gath a long while back and we were both level 6-7 I had gotten him down to a low enough health that I would insta-kill him with ulti, he made a stupid move of getting in melee range of me so I ate him. Through out most of the game I thought he was pretty bad until around end game when most of the enemy team weren't running away from me or backing off when I could insta-kill them with ulti. Now what I think Riot or Morello or whichever works on making sure the game is balanced in the most part is just make it show the animation for everyone else. TL;DR Change Cho'gaths thresh-hold animation to show for everyone, not just Cho'gath.

The problem being that everybody would just run away from you at that point. They added it because there was a point in time when there wasn't an animation for that and the number of missed feasts due to 10-15 health was so annoying. It was so hard to accurately gauge the health of opponents on the fly for the ult that they added the animation.

I didn't know about this and I'm interested in general. What does the animation look like?

also, does Darius have a similar mechanism? and if not, why not? I can't think of any other champ that has an execute ultimate with an added effect dependent on the successful execution.

As to your actual point, I think it should be clear enough to an enemy that they should not hang around cho at low HP. Sure, if hes really fed, it might catch you off guard how much damage he could execute you with and you might stick around with only slightly low hp longer than you would if you knew he could instagib you. But in general I don't think it's that significant of a change for the enemy. Even if you don't know exactly when he can instagib you with ult, he can always use other skills in combo and kill you anyway if you're low even if it's not just the ult. I don't think a decent player should be making the choice to back off already weather they know the exact execute threshold or not.

On the other hand, know the exact threshold is much more significant for cho himself as he has the additional motive of stacking hp, and thus wants to know if he should use other abilities/attacks first or not. I think for cho it's not primarily an indicator of when you can get a kill, but rather an indicator of wether you should use other skills or attacks first before your ult when going for a kill. You do get the bonus information of knowing exactly when you can get that kill, but I don't think that's too impactful of a bit of knowledge relative of the opportunity cost of not getting a stack, especially in a situation where you could get the kill with other attacks + the ult anyway; it would just help you choose the order.
