Olaf and his current state of gameplay
Now I understand that long-ago Voyboy wrecked everyone in a blaze of old Brolaf glory and subsequently gave Riot reason to nerf him to the ground and make him feel more fair to play against and thus upping the skill cap. required to play as Olaf without snowballing into a marauding force of nature, yet making him still viable to play. And it was understandable seeing that the competitive scene took a liking to him as well as the importance of health his main stat being more potent. However there was a problem with all this nerfing.
It destroyed him.
In true honesty, its understandable why that update over nine months ago happened because before that nerf I had great success as Olaf and I loved how he played as the psychotic-ax happy viking that turns every enemy champ in a six feet radius into a puddle of gold coins and bloodied mulch.
However when the nerf hit and Olaf reduced to a poor meat-shield that had little sway over the games outcome, but when the Olaf rework came in, that was great. I picked up Olaf again and he's once again fun to play as.
The reworks on his "E" were brilliant and sensible allowing Olaf to destroy squishy champs quickly in the late game and giving him something to use in duels. His ult as well is well though out. I like the feeling of being able to choose the time when I can drop the additional protection for some extra damage. As well as engaging a CC heavy team and smashing through with little trouble if executed properly. This as well was a good choice for balance and the amount of satisfaction for being only one hit away to a full minute waiting in the respawn pool and somehow surviving, "if" you know how to use this factor of risk reward to your advantage.
The problem is that his "W" spell just doesn't feel right. Sure it gives him the life-steal and attack sped boost that makes Olaf feel right. However sometimes it just isn't enough to stand up to some other champs steroids for long. Though the healing factor is really good and works well with a
the thing is he can't really bounce back, from lets say an early buff steal, too hard without some good amounts of health and by then he won't be too much of a threat unless backed up by his team. Thus making it a waiting game to reach full build and becoming a real force to be reckoned with though even then its a bit of a slanted gamble when you charge in without the right team. So perhaps just adding a slight attack damage bonus lets say 5% of his base attack damage added to give the spell more impact in a duel or teamfight.
His "Q" as well I find is a good though a slight reduction of his cooldown on it lets say an additional .5-1.5 reduction of his cooldown would be much appreciated. Giving Olaf a slightly bigger window of opportunity to chase champs. with dashes or CC that can stop him easily. We've all had that moment where Olaf misses the enemy champ and walks away like nothing happened.
Though on a side note it would be cool to see an Olaf feljord skin like we did with sejuani giving him a more Feljord look to him. You know bits of stolen pieces of silver armbands, torques and a ring or two from the dead men of other tribes with fur, and armor (perhaps something reminiscent of Rohirrim armor) like so though a bit more tattered and worn from use (all credit goes to the respective owners of the pictures)

augmented together to show his rank as a warrior of high regard and yet keeping to the motif that hes a berserker. A wild force of nature in steel and furs that looses himself in a fit of wild rage.
