[Champion Rework] Ashe, the Frost Archer

This thread is a simplified version that exists on the Champion Feedback forums, to see rework that includes additional quotes this is the link.

The Goals:
The objectives of this rework are the following:

  • Transform Frost Shot to become Ashe’s new Innate (level 1 passive).
  • Rework Focus so that Ashe can choose when to critically strike.
  • Address Ashe’s dueling issues against other Marksman.

Disclaimer: Numbers are theoretical until properly tested in an enviroment, such as the PBE, and are subject to change.
Abilities:
[Innate] Frost Shot
TYPE: Basic Attack Modifier (Single-Target) / Ability Modifier (AoE)
TARGET TYPE: Neutral / Enemy
DEBUFF TYPE: Slow
DEBUFF DURATION: 1 Second / 0.5-2 Seconds

Basic Description:
(Passive): Ashe’s basic attacks and Volley slow the target by 15% for 1 second. Ashe’s subsequent attacks increase the duration by 0.5 seconds, up to 2 additional seconds maximum.

Specific Details:
(Passive): When Ashe strikes a target with her basic attack or Volley they are slowed by 15% for 1 second. Each of Ashe’s subsequent basic attacks increase the duration by 0.5 seconds, up to 2 additional seconds maximum before it will no longer be extended. Ashe can immediately start the same process again when the slow fades.

Visual:
(Passive): The same visual effects as the live Frost Shot.

BUFF TYPE: Physical Damage
BUFF DURATION: 5 Seconds
DEBUFF TYPE: Slow
DEBUFF DURATION: 1 Second / 0.5-2 Seconds
COST: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 Mana
COOLDOWN: 16 Seconds

Basic Description:
(Active): Ashe concentrates intently for 5 seconds, causing her next basic attack or Volley to critically strike for (140 / 160 / 180 / 200 / 220% Damage) physical damage in addition to increasing the slow effect of Frost Shot to 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50%.

Attacking enemies reduces the cooldown of Focus by 0.5 seconds, and attacking enemy champions reduces the cooldown of Focus by 1 second.

Specific Details:
(Active): Ashe’s next basic attack or Volley within 5 seconds will critically strike for (140 / 160 / 180 / 200 / 220% Damage) physical damage in addition to increasing the potency of Frost Shot to 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50%.

When Ashe damages an enemy unit with a basic attack or Volley, the cooldown of Focus is reduced by 1 second. When Ashe damages an enemy champion with a basic attack, Volley or Enchanted Crystal Arrow the cooldown of Focus is reduced by 1 second.

The slow effect on Frost Shot is increased from 15% to 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50% and overrides existing Frost Shots on targets struck.

The buff is consumed on Ashe’s next basic attack, Volley or expires after 5 seconds.

Resets Ashe’s basic attack timer.

Visual:
(Active): The visual effects are the same as the live Focus when activated. when a target is affected by the empowered Frost Shot there is a snowflake icon over their head.

In addition, Ashe shouts out a quote when Focus is activated.

TYPE: Conal-Linear-Colliding Skillshot (AoE)
TARGET TYPE: Neutral / Enemy
MISSILE SPEED: 2000 Units
RANGE: 1200 Units
DEBUFF TYPE: Slow
DEBUFF DURATION: 1 Second / 0.5-2 Seconds
COST: 60 Mana
COOLDOWN: 16 / 13 / 10 / 7 / 4 Seconds

Basic Description:
(Active): Ashe fires a volley of arrows in a cone, dealing (30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50, +100% Total AD) physical damage. Volley applies Frost Shot.

Specific Details:
(Active): Ashes fires 7 arrows in a 57.5 degree cone, dealing (35 / 40 / 45 / 50 / 55, +100% Total AD) physical damage to each target hit. Each arrow will only hit one enemy, and each enemy will only be hit by one arrow. Volley also applies Frost Shot to all targets hit for 1 second or extends the duration of existing versions of Frost Shot by 0.5 seconds.

Visual:
(Active): The same visual effects as the live Volley.

[E] Hawkshot
TYPE: Economy Buff (Single-Target) / Ground-Targeted Skillshot (AoE)
TARGET TYPE: Self / All
MISSILE SPEED: Same As Live
RANGE: 2500 / 3250 / 4000 / 4750 / 5500 Units
RANGE TO CENTER OF AOE: 1000 Units
BUFF TYPE: Gold / Standard Sight
BUFF DURATION: 2 Seconds / 5 Seconds
COST: No Cost
COOLDOWN: 50 / 45 / 40 / 35 / 30 Seconds

Basic Description:
(Passive): Ashe gains an additional 3 gold when she slays an enemy or structure.

(Active): Ashe animates a hawk to scout for her, revealing terrain as it flies towards the target location and grants vision for 5 seconds after reaching its destination.

Specific Details:
(Passive): Upon killing an enemy unit or structure Ashe generates an additional 3 gold.

(Active): Ashe fires an arrow that grants vision for 2 seconds while flying towards its destination, upon reaching the location it grants 1000 units of vision for 5 seconds.

Visual:
(Passive): The same visual effects as the live Hawkshot.

(Active): The same visual effects as the live Hawkshot.

[R] Enchanted Crystal Arrow
TYPE: Linear-Colliding Skillshot (AoE)
TARGET TYPE: Enemy Champion
MISSILE SPEED: 1600 Units
RANGE: Global
RANGE TO CENTER OF AOE: 250 Units
DEBUFF TYPE: Stun / Slow
DEBUFF DURATION: 1-3 Seconds
COST: 100 Mana
COOLDOWN: 100 / 90 / 80 Mana

Basic Description:
(Active): Ashe fires a missile of ice in a straight line. If the arrow collides with an enemy champion, it deals (200 / 325 / 450, +100% Bonus AD) physical damage and stuns them for 1-3 seconds, based on how far the arrow has traveled. Surrounding enemies take (100 / 162.5 / 225, +50% Bonus AD) physical damage and are slowed by 50% for 1-3 seconds, based on how far the arrow has traveled.

Specific Details:
(Active): Ashe fires an arrow that travels at 1600 units in a straight line. If it collides with an enemy champion it deals (200 / 325 / 450, +100% Bonus AD) physical damage stuns them for 1-3 seconds, based on how far the arrow has traveled. Enemies within 250 units of the impact take (100 / 162.5 / 225, +50% Bonus AD) physical damage and are slowed by 50% for 1-3 seconds, based on how far the arrow has traveled.

The slow from Enchanted Crystal Arrow does not stack with Frost Shot.

The minimum stun and slow duration are 1 second, and takes up to 2800 units to reach the maximum stun and slow duration of 3 seconds.

Visual:
(Active): The same visual effects as the live Enchanted Crystal Arrow.

Permaslow without a tradeoff = Bad Idea.

random idea... what if you also made it so Ashe could either activate her E on the ground so it would activate normally OR she could activate it on an enemy champion.

If used on a champion the hawk will chase the champion and when it hits them, reveals them for 5 seconds. This could also potentially proc frost shot.

No idea how good this idea would be... it just jumped into my head and though I'd post it.

Out of all the Ashe reworks I've seen (and I've seen a lot) I think I like this one the best. Most Ashe reworks I hate, but you managed to keep everything about her theme and mechanics.

My only complaints come from the passive. First off, the slow falls off before Ashe can get a second AA off until she has > 1 AS. To outpace the 0.5 falloff she needs > 2 AS. Aside from that, attacking instantly after the slow falls off reapplies the slow, which means very carefully timed AAs can pretty much permaslow someone. But the cost is that it feels really clunky. I think you should either just make it an actual permaslow or change it into something meaningful that can't be abused into a permaslow.

Also the physical damage on her ult could be a bigger deal than you think. I see that you've brought down the damage to compensate for the scaling, but keep in mind that the physical damage is affected by armor pen.
