Proxy, how do you fight it?

Scrublord47 here, and today was the first time I've seen someone proxy for a extended period of time. I was top Lissandra vrs a Singed and even as we started doing blue, Sing was already behind my tower starting to proxy. We managed to close in on him but to no anvil. Then all game long I was having to push out my wave double back try to catch Sing to force him back into lane, where he pushed up again and repeated it. I was decently successful at killing him a few times but it cost my other lanes as my jungler had to come up to help me seal the deal several times on him. So how are you suppose to fight it, without demanding all of your junglers attention? Mind you Jungle Malphite and top Lissandra wasn't very bursty so we had issues killing him even then.

Help?

IGNORE.

Or at most, send your jungler to deal with them.

Proxy farmers are almost always proxying specifically to p* you off and get you and/or multiple members of your team's attention toward themselves. What this does is get your teammates away from their lanes, making everyone who left their lane lose CS and tower health while the proxy farmer likely still hasn't lost much CS or any tower health. Not to mention that they generally would have kits that make it really fricking hard to kill them, ultimately making you waste so much time on a kill while the minions in the lane he is proxying in slowly gain objective advantage as they siege down your tower while you're away.

If you ignore the proxy farmer however, there is literally nothing he can do. Assuming you are decent at CSing under tower, you and your opponent proxy farmer are going to have similar amounts of CS and thus will be equally fed in most cases. Eventually, you may lose your first tower, but by then, most champions would have the wave clear either in their kits or bought from the gold they generated out of uninterrupted farming that the second tower should have no problems. This essentially turns the proxy farming into a stalemate, one that you can control because you constantly have vision on the enemy proxy farmer while you can leave lane once you've sufficiently farm to handle objectives elsewhere, which if timed right (remember, you have vision on the enemy proxy farmer, you literally should not be able to fail a good rotation when concerning them) means more advantage for your team as a whole while on an individual scale, you and the proxy farmer are still equal.

Ultimately, just ignore them and watch as your team wins.

In general, I try to give the kill to my jungler. He spends his time coming top to kill the guy, you go away with an assist, a slight gold lead, but your jungler gets big and can crush the rest of the map. Proxying generally turns into giving up a set number of kills in exchange for decreased pressure on the rest of the map. If you don't get jungle help, just keep the lane pushed. Lissandra can Q the wave as it comes, then QW again to clear it. Singed can't effectively proxy starting level 1, after about 2 waves he will be rather low, or run out of mana.

This is also another reason for the jungler to start with the lower buff, since a level 3 gank with red buff would almost guarantee a kill.

Basically, if you can't hurt him or catch him, ignore him. Take the farm a distance from the turret if it will mess with your last hits. Proxying is only an issue for champions who lack good waveclear early like Ryze or Shen, and even then it only translates into tower damage. Don't give up minions at your turret unless you have a good chance of killing the Singed.

I would say your best bet, would be lane swap with that setup. Send your duo lane to deal with him while you try to CS at turret in bot lane. If they match the lane swap, swap back, if he's busy swapping lanes, he isn't cs'ing.

If you have the foresight to think he might proxy farm (i.e. if you see Singed picked in champion select) then take an AD that can deal with him (in case he doesn't proxy) and grab early lifesteal so you can farm your minions outside of turret range so you guys get equal CS. Then grab the Sword of the Occult, wait for the minions to get him relatively low on HP, and get your jungler to come help you kill him (ignoring him until that point) so that you start getting stacks on your sexy sword. You'll eventually become big enough that you can stop him from proxy farming whenever he tries to, which will also push him out of lane.

Another thing that works, is have the jungler gank mid, if they get the kill, have them push to the turret ASAP, then have both come up and kill him.

From my own personal experience as the proxy farmer, the second and third work ridiculously well. Oh, and you don't have to worry too much about getting ganked while killing singed, the jungler really CBA to come try saving him between your turrets...
