How is having more bans not a way to balance the game without Riot having to do any real work?

If we had the power to keep enough champions out of play that are actually too frustrating to play against because they offer no play then we can actually enjoy a reasonably balanced game experience. As opposed to currently people just abuse OP champions to gain MMR.

Or they play Renekton and Thresh because they never get touched.

Short answer: No.

Long answer:

1.Bans don't solve the problem for Blind Pick or Team Builder.

2.More bans make the competitive scene nearly impossible, as the ability to ban out players goes up. With even one more ban per team, the team to first pick can deny up to 5 champions in a given role. Most players don't have champion pools that deep while still being comparably competitive.

3.More bans doesn't actually solve the problem for anyone, it just a poor delay tactic.

While I could enjoy more bans, newer players would be in the dumpster. As someone who has been playing league nonstop for 5 months, I don't have nearly enough champions to deal with more bans.

I would honestly rather see a return of URF's blind draft mode, as i prefer it to normal draft.

The drafting system on DotA I have to say is better. There are 2 bans, then 2 picks and it goes in a cycle somewhat like that to where there are bans then picks then bans then picks.

Designing a system so that more champions never get played isn't balance....

Just like if they nerf a champion so hard that no one ever plays that champion, it isn't balance.
