i see alot of mid lulu or top and hardly any support lulus i think shes still good support but some of my freinds r like lulu is different now, shes more of a solo laner rather then supporting becuz she is less useful as support n i wonder is that true? now the tier 1 is lulu mid and support lulu tier is lower but jus wondeering am i wrong?
It is still viable. The AP scaling made her a good mid champion, but that doesn't mean you can't pick her support. She still has the poke, shield, silence, ult which is very useful as a support. She won't be much of a dmg threat like the mid laner, but she still has the utility to be a great support. Build a bit of an AP and you can take advantage of it.
I think less useful is not a good word. Maybe mid laner has better scaling?

Lulu does quite well with farm, benefiting not only in damage, but utility as well. Her power in a solo lane is derived from her power spike in the midgame. This makes her a potent mid because she excels at early fights. She can push the lane out and gank with an excellent slow, and is not highly vulnerable to counterganks because of her ult. Once she has a Lichbane, towers drop fast. Much of that cannot be accomplished as a support, leaving her with a good ult, and a weaker, but still useful, slow.
