Suggestion for Nidalee's Spears

So, we know that Riot is working on Nidalee's kit a little bit, but I wanted to offer this suggestion. We already know that the current identity of Nidalee's spears are changing, so I'll keep this brief by skipping justification for the change.

So instead of increasing the total damage by a flat percentage (up to 250% at the moment), I would suggest that the spear gains increasing bonus damage based on current health, up to 25% of current HP. The catch, though, is that I would suggest this bonus current health damage be applied after the initial damage.

That subtle change makes a big difference. Basically, if the base damage (which I wouldn't change) doesn't kill you, the bonus damage mathematically cannot kill you either. Now, a spear can still kill you, but it would have to go from the initial 230+65% AP damage, which is only slightly lower than the other long range champions. Plus, it will still provide a reward for singling out specific targets during a seige (particularly high health ones).

So, both of you suggest that this is overly damaging to Tanks. Let's do a quick mathematical analysis of just how this breaks down in the late game.

Assumptions: Tank has 3000 health and 180 magic resist. Nidalee has 450 AP, 39% magic pen plus 25 flat. Overall damage reduction: 33.3% Assuming average bonus damage of 18% current HP (more than half, less than full distance. I think that's fair, especially for a front line tank.)

Reworked Spear

Base Damage = (230 + 450 x .65) x .667 = 425 damage

Bonus Damage = (3000 - 425) x .18 x .667 = 309

Total: 734 damage, 2266 Health remaining

That is a nice chunk of damage. How would it compare to a normal spear though?

Current Spear

Damage: = (230 + 450 x .65) x 1.8 x .667 = 765

Total: 765 damage, 2235 Health remaining

The reworked spear actually does less to a tank, the target it would do the most damage to, compared to previously. The real difference is that the damage falls off considerably if that first burst of damage is relatively high compared to your total heatlh. You wouldn't get Nidalee's instantly zeroing out everyone on the map with just a single spear. They'd have to land 2 or 3.

Editted to add: I feel like it is important for me to note that because Nidalee scales multaplicatively at the moment with more AP, the suggested rework would continue to do less damage comparatively to live with more and more AP.

Feels like such a high base damage might lead to Nidalees chunking hard without even building full AP.

Also, this seems especially harsh against tanks.

Kind of makes you want to hit tanks more. I would think that another possible change would be: gains a maximum of 15% extra true damage. This would make her very good against tanks, and do quite a bit to squishies.
