I've played at least 10 games recently where the other team has multiple tanks and they seem to always win because we can never kill them. Sure we get close, but they have their carries kill us before we can finish them off. So annoying!

Learn which assassins are best at getting past which tanks. Then you can counterpick them to kill the high damage targets.
Because tanks crush. Unfortunately. Just snag a vayne with a LW and BOTRK. Or a kog with the same.
Yeah, and I mean, come on. They are tanks after all. No offense, either have players or champs that can specialize against tanks, have the team build some items to help against tanks, or make sure your team has just as many and better tanks to give the enemy the same trouble or worse.**
think about it............while you are trying to kill the tank his friends are killing you while you are distracted.
Most people don't think about strategy in this game they just try to get kills and take out the tank when they need to focus on the person that is dealing out the most damage the fastest or "carrying" the enemy team.
The tank just "initiates" the battle and keeps it going while sucking up damage and getting kills along the way.
