Questions About Pantheon and as a Player (NOOB posting)

Pantheon So I have been playing LoL more casually than anything throughout S03, but as I progress I'm starting to notice there's little to any tolerance in regards as being a "NOOB" goes, which is motivating for me to play a lot more, in which I find myself doing, but also to start to learn how to improve my skills or play style. Now I would like to do so but I don't know where to start, I find myself searching for builds or tips all the time and then I quickly am overwhelmed with how in depth LoL can be. Now my go-to champion is Pantheon, I play a lot of 3v3 but even in 5v5 SR i find myself having an equal amount of success. What I'm wondering is how far can I go with Pantheon if i so choose to begin playing ranked and moving up in the LoL world or simply just improving as a player. Also playing a lot with Pantheon what other champions can I easily transition to as far similarities go. I obviously don't have enough knowledge about the game enough to know how ridiculous my questions sound or anything, I'm just looking for the best kind of help I can use in order to progress. One last reminder, If I find a lot of "success" in one play style (TOP lane AD) for example should I focus more on mastering that play style, make it my own, or should I learn other styles like mid laners, junglers, bot supporters. Is diversity good for this kind of game or does it lead to never actually being "good" at one thing but instead being able to "meh" handle yourself fairly. thanks for whoever takes the time to actually read this and help.

My advice to you is to take one role at a time and learn 2-3 champions within that role. You seem to like top lane a lot, so stick with that for now and once you master that, you can branch out. Knowing all the roles is vital if you want to be successful in this game. Each role has its part to play in the flow of the game and knowing what every other role will be doing can help you decide what your next move should be to help the entire team.

As far as top champions go, Riven is always good. Nasus is late game, but very strong.

Diversity is good in this game, but everyone has their preferred places. For example, I enjoy being ADC or support, but I can do any role (jungle, mid, top, adc, support).

Hope this helps.

Ok so Pantheon is top therefore almost any top lane champion should be an easy transition. I'm not ranked but I do main Pantheon as well and he is above almost every other champion the easiest to play but the more skilled you are with him the better he can be. If you need any help just add me on league of legends. I also have a friend who is diamond league and mains Pantheon so I could direct you to him to.

Check the graphs on LoLKing, but be sure to try and look in the group you're playing among in Ranked. The common champion choices in Bronze are way different than those in the Challenger group.

As someone below suggested, choose the top 3 champs in each role and learn them. Learn their counters so you know when to play each one. Diversity is a great thing to have.

As for Pantheon specifically, I've noticed that he tends to fall off in the late game. Especially in Season 4, where the emphasis is on stopping snowballing, even fed champions aren't staying ahead for very long. This is important for champions like Pantheon who might win their lane easily but fail to perform well in the late game.

Thanks a bunch every little bit counts, what are your thoughts on Pantheon as a champion later on in my journey, is he worth the investment?
