Doctor and Former Grandmaster of Starcraft 2's 3-Month Challenge!
Hey Everyone!
My name is Dr. Jason Mango. I'm a Doctor of Physical Therapy in Boston, MA, USA, and I've recently decided to give myself a challenge!
I love being competitive with myself so I decided to give myself a 3 month time limit to start to learn the game and ladder up as high as I can. I'm currently 3 weeks in trying out different champions I would like to play on ladder, and have been playing unranked only. I will start the ladder climb next weekend!
Prior to 3 weeks ago, I have never played a single game of League of Legends, although I have ranked in the top 25 in grandmaster league (the equivalent to Challenger on LoL) in Starcraft 2 and held rank 1 in the world in 2v2 in Starcraft 2 for over 4 years. The benchmarks I hope to achieve at different time points are these:
By the end of my first 2 weeks of laddering, I hope to achieve Silver II+ By the end of 1 month of laddering, I hope to promote up to gold III+ By the end of my 3 months I hope to rank to any plat+ rank and >53% winrate from my ladder games.
If for some reason I achieve my goals quicker than expected, I will re-evaluate them at this time. I have 0 experience with the ladder system on League of Legends, so I'm not really sure how easy/difficult it is to get promoted. My only experience was the laddering system on SC2, which may or may not be different.
I'm certain that my mechanics will carry me heavily, since I currently have EXTREMELY minimal game sense and experience with understanding the different champions move sets.
I'll be streaming a majority of my games from this point onward in the link provided, and if you'd like to hang out and chat about anything science/medical or League or Starcraft, please feel free to reach out in the stream chat!
The first stream will start today (2/16/2020) at 2pm EST.
All the best, Mango
