Watching LoL Replays from older patches

I have just spent the last few hours attempting to do something that should be seemingly easy to do: that is, playing a saved LoL replay from an older patch. However, as I quickly realized, this task was much more daunting of a task than I had previously anticipated. About an hour or so later, and on the verge of having a full out brain aneurysm, I was able to finally get it to work through the LoL Replay 2 application, after I assigned some shortcut keys in the installation wizard. Why this worked is beyond me, but regardless, I am requesting that you please provide your players with a less infuriating way to watch and share their videos with their friends (before overwatch does).
