How do I start streaming

Hello I recently reached a decent elo, master tier as adc and now I really want to start streaming to entertain as well as teach. I play on my macbook air and I tried streaming with obs, but I can't seem to get the settings right. my fps drops to around 27 and it makes the game unplayable. Please help!! thank you guys...
