Gp is eating smth against a seadecease called skorbut. Its a mangle of vitamin c so i think he is eating lemons they are easy to store and it has many vitamin c in it. So let me know you guess!

The skill clearly says Oranges? And oranges are still popularly known for their VitaminC. And the disease is scurvy, which I believe traditionally/incidentally 'cured' with limes.

Edit: wrong on my history. But wiki mentions oranges plenty.
