Has Riot's chat censorship gone overboard?

It feels like preschool where you can't bring up anything that would cause a negative feeling. It started out as something healthy, now it only feels like censorship.

I don't believe that people need to have their words policed. If you don't like what somebody is saying, there is a mute button for a reason. This is coming from someone who has never had a chat ban, or for that reason, hardly ever even speaks in-game.

It's not censorship when you've shown a pattern of behavior that everyone else finds unpleasant enough to warrant consistent reports.

Competitive sports or esports aren't meant to be pleasant. They have made it so anyone who's overtly sensitive can get someone banned. It's competitive, it's a game that is designed to create tension in loss and joy in victory. It's the nature of competition. Life isn't a bubble, how about not trying live in one?
