Just felt like posting about my League experience today

For the last month or so, I've been so busy that it's been a bit hard for me to play any game properly. I normally have two game companions for whatever I'm doing in my life and these would be League of Legends and Final Fantasy XIV. Not that I don't play other things but those two are the ones I usually default to. Today I finally had some time off and decided to give both games some time.

Final Fantasy XIV has this new instance called Eureka. It's basically a very large map with very a very slow leveling system, but you get some cool gear the more you play it. I've always been a bit shy for MMO games, but I was able to pair with a random player and we got a couple challenges done and sped up our early levels. We disbanded and then I joined a larger group that was going around the map doing group events. Just for some quick context, everyone on the party was around level 15 - 20, which is pretty high en Eureka, and I was just Level 5. The party leader was even kind enough to come pick me up so I wouldn't aggro mobs and I could join the group events. Went quite well. Got a couple levels and found out there's an item I want, so I'll probably return there some other day.

So then came time for League. Just queued for Flex because Normals tend to feel a bit too meaningless for me and I'm not on form for Solo Queue. So I just pick Trist and was up against a Xayah lane, so not much of a problem in terms of playing a Crit character right now. So we're actually shoving the wave and lane is going quite well. Brand then decides to dive the tower at Level 3 and dies. Brand then proceeds to rage against me, both in our chat and in All Chat. Turns out enemy Jax was a Talon I played with last week or something, and he uses this opportunity to mock me and remind the entire room how I didn't do well on that other game. Brand then leaves lane, despite me being ahead like 25 CS over Xayah. The player never returned to lane proper. He was Level 4 by the time me, Xayah and her Braum were Level 6. Needless to say, the 1v2 didn't go that well. Brand then continued to find any chance he could to flame me, even though I tried to remain reasonable. Our friendly Kah was working on his Blue Buff. Brand comes and attempts to take it. Kah smites and this didn't sit well with Brand, who proclaims he'll now farm till we "decide to do something" and so he did. The game wasn't that bad all things considered, with Brand rarely helping us and their Zed being pretty fed. It's whatever, you win you lose. But when it comes to the player experience, I can't even begin to describe how trash it felt to have that Brand on our team, and then this Jax choosing to mock me for the other game last week for no reason. I didn't even know Silvers could get repeated matchups with the same players, and I seriously doubt my report will do much.

I doubt any Rioter is reading this but geez guys... I really don't know how to feel. I won't compare League to an MMO directly, it's just that my experiences today with both games were so polar opposite that it was impossible for me to not rant even just a bit about it.

I'll try and get another couple League games and hopefully it'll go better. Anyway... take care dear reader.
