Riot Game Developers are Sexist, Made Hateful Comments, Only Care About Popular Champs, and More

I think this company and game is going downhill fast. This has nothing to really do with the horrible design decisions they made at the beginning of the year but more about the integrity they no longer have. This year alone was a huge wake-up call to the League of Legends community. Different parts of the company have:

  • Made sexist comments towards women in their workplace.
  • Purposely didn't allow men into a gaming panel that revolved around champion design and insight into working for the company.
  • It was revealed that some Riot Game Developers have made hurtful and hateful comments about the LBGTQ community and women, and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they don't pay LGBTQ people and women, the same as a white, heterosexual male.
  • Whether or not it is true or not, may or may not be involved in some criminal acts and are being sued.

Let's talk about their game decisions:

  • No longer care about their older players. It is becoming very much so that Riot Game Developers no longer care about the opinions and passion of long time players. If it wasn't for many of us who supported Riot Games when they were small indy company, no one would have a game to play. New players and new champions are made a top priority over everything in the game, even if that means taking abilities, identities, and themes from one champion and putting it on to a new champion. Work is being ignored on specific champions and there have been nothing but excuses as to why things are not getting done in the game, but they have the nerve to use the excuse that it would effect new players too much so they cannot do anything.
  • No matter what is said and done, 90% of the Development team are liars if it doesn't align with their bias work ethic. These Developers have single handily gone out of their way to work on art assets, advanced kit reworks, and thematic on popular and new champions, but they cannot be bothered to do the same for mistakes they made on other champions or an older one. It shouldn't take 2 years to work on Lissandra when you prioritized a mini VGU on Ezreal, reworks on Ahri and Lux every year, and 7 VGU on Ryze. It really shouldn't be that hard.
  • Much to the dismay of the community, the game feels like it is barely moving at the pace of other ones that much better in terms of art, gameplay and uniqueness. Every Enchanter almost feels the same. I play Karma and I see her Mantra E in almost every aspect of the game. I see so many outdated champions being neglected because a new one is being given something that is relatively the same of what we already have in the game.
  • There is not enough VGU happening and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if these Developers are prioritizing a VGU on Ahri and Lux at this point.

Why support this game anymore if these Developers are, on paper, horrible and hateful human beings but also cannot remain impartial to champion and game decisions that are right for the game and the champions?

  1. I think I don't have to mention again, that the only actual thing your posts achieve is destroying the public opinion of us Karma mains, right? Right. I usually don't comment on your threads anymore to adress this, but since you made me comment now, I might as well repeat myself for the zigillionth time.

  2. Riot is a huge company. Of course there will be alleged mean comments for at least one of their employees. This generation is more accepting and open than any before, but even in these days we still have to figure out, as a society, what is hurtful to say (and needs to be adressed) and what is okay to say (and we need to calm the fuck down). I see so much confusion on both sides. You are on the take a fucking chill pill side of the story atm.

  3. Saying "a company may or may not be involved in some criminal acts" without providing even a hint of proof or context is just meaningless slander. Which are two words I never thought I would use in conjunction.

You know, I don't think people get, that the problem with racism isn't that it's against poor blacks, or with sexism, that it's suppressing women or stuff. The problem with both concepts is, that it blames individuals for their groups and vice-versa.

Like seeing a single black man commit a crime "Blacks are criminal scum!" Then seeing another black person "You are a criminal, since you are black!" It's called an attribution fallacy and I never thought I would see it used against a company. One Riot employee says something (probably) sexist -> Riot is sexist -> Every employee at Riot is sexist. Thats so illogical and backwards it pains me to see you write it. Like "An orange is a fruit." And then concluding "Fruits are oranges." and then meeting an apple "Oh, you are a fruit? I see, I know you oranges very well, you being red can't hide that fact!"

I seriously hope you are just drunk again, and we can talk about this when you have sobered up.

I would love for you to provide evidence of hateful comments in the work place. Namely because an accusation doesn't always = the truth. Innocent until proven guilty

Because most players don't agree with your statements, don't care even if they believe, or don't see the things you are complaining about as a serious problem. Like me.

Thats why they wont got downhill fast if they give the thing that a larger group of fans ask for.
