On the topic of gifting chromas

Gifting chromas has been disabled for a year now, and I'd really like to be able to gift my friends those super shiny skins (that no one else ever has). Any thoughts on this? Can any Rioters comment on when gifting chromas might become an option again?

These would make great gifts as you can KNOW your friend will play that champion with that skin as you have seen it before, so it is a cheap and safe gift.
