You could achieve the same with AD soraka and she still would suck at jungling. Subpar ganks and farming. But honestly if you're having fun then you shouldn't mind.

what does or doesn't work is largely opinionated. The game is balanced 100% around pro play. The worst champion in the game can have an 80% win rate in gold tier for example because skills in any tier are not that closely related. So anyone who tells you this or that doesn't work, take it with a grain of salt.
