Still fps drop in 9.23, riot pls fix

Hi, so 9.23 patch have the same problem like 9.22 and 9.21 patch. The problem is the random fps drop. Like before 9.21, the game was running properly, that means 150+ fps with no drop or stutter. When i play summoner's rift, first 3-5 minutes the fps is good, but then, randomly starts stuttering and going down to 30-40 fps for 5-10 seconds then going up to 100 fps, this happens at every 2-3 minutes, i reinstalled the game, formated the windows too, still same problem. Like just look at that discussion too https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/general-discussion/sGLfxewQ-huge-fps-drops-after-patch-922 --> look how many people have the same problem and can't play the game properly.. PLS FIX

mine worked fine right up until 9.23 now every 10-15 seconds i just get this HUGE fps lagg

Kthulu11/21/2019, 3:12:17 PM9 votes

Bump. Ever since 9.23, I have intense FPS lag that lasts about 1 second, especially during fights but it happens at any time; happens more often as the game progresses up to about once every 10 seconds. It is impossible to outplay anything because during that time that it spikes, the entire game stops completely for about 1 full second or more, and no matter how many times I press buttons, I can't do anything during that FPS lag. I end up having to press R like 8 times for it to work, at the moment the FPS returns back to normal (which for me is about 220 FPS).

I can't play ranked anymore because of this which is frustrating.

I just started having this in every game after going to 9.23.

NNY11/21/2019, 8:33:37 AM9 votes

Every game since 9.23

MLC Taunted11/21/2019, 11:45:41 AM8 votes

Exact same problem here, high end PC, no fps problems with League ever!

Now since 9.23 I have huge FPS spikes that make the game completely unplayable. Would love to know if anyone has a fix.

Fungalspore11/21/2019, 10:48:06 AM7 votes

Every game since 9.23

Same here, the problems started after patch 9.22 and are still present in 9.23

Especially after the new dragons effects.

Hi there! I am also having a similar issue after a reinstall / full sweep of the game. I have not reinstalled windows but this seems to be a major issue. Could we possibly get a red post about this?

Ekrizdis11/22/2019, 4:27:01 AM4 votes

Hey y'all.

CLOSE BLITZ - It's doing this. This is not a Riot issue. This is a Blitz issue.

I didnt have the problem yesterday when I played few games but its terrible today, I hope its fixed soon cause its pretty bad

Dalo48411/21/2019, 3:56:48 AM3 votes

It seems that dropping the resolution to as low as 1366x762 can mitigate the FPS drop to 10 instead of 4 to 8 and the time to 5 seconds instead of 10 seconds. Still this seems like an incredibly idiotic problem considering that before that patch (senna patch, please remove her btw) I was playing with 100-80 fps in medium config in 1920x1080. I guess riot is finally telling the rest of us to stop playing the game and move on to better games, a shame really. The season didn't look that bad. [sg-lulu]

Well, for me the problem occured in 9.23. Full, clean reinstall of the graphics drivers did not help, nor helped reinstalling the game (tbh helped a little bit). But still, going from around 500fps to a single digit making it a real pain. Tested multiple times on various custom games, pratice tools. Enabling Hide Eye Candy option or disabling screen shake, turning off antialiasing - did not help at all. The problem starts when minions spawn and further to the game. I don't think that's the problem with my setup, because any other game that I play is going smoothly. If that's an issue with a Win 10 1903 update, that's a real shame.

TurboBrioche11/21/2019, 9:30:06 PM3 votes

Same issue here :

On EVERY SINGLE 9.23 game so far. My PC can run RDR2 ultra 60+ fps but cannot run this potato program such as LoL ?

I uninstalled all Riots programs from my pc, Lol Client, Lol PBE Client, even League Displays, got all of my drivers clean and ready, then installed all of those Riot programs on my very SSD. Still drops from 240+ fps to 30 every 8 - 12 seconds ?!

Fix it asap, meanwhile i'll be on HOTS spamming that good ol' Arthas.

Brazilian Yordle11/22/2019, 11:16:09 AM2 votes

Okay, here is what's happening to me. It's similar to many cases, in this thread. I had no problem on past patches and since pre-season 9.23 patch started, I can't play the game anymore. It's not fun having a overkill setup and getting frames dropped. My Specs are: I7 9700K, Samsung 512GB SSD and RTX 2080TI, on Windows 10 Updated and having GeForce Experience to Update my drives (and NOT optimize my games through it), so no reason to have this problems.

What I found is, when I TURN OFF my computer (because resetting doesn't seem to work) and turn it back on, I can play one game without major Frame Drop. It still happens after the 3rd dragon spawns changing the map, but its not so bad. If I decide to play any more games, the drops will occur since the begin of the game, every 10s or so, and it is like 0.5~1s frozen screen, so you can feel how unfun is to play the game in the current state.

---- EDIT --- Seems like Blitz was the problem. It is fixed.

bebetobg11/20/2019, 10:13:57 PM2 votes

If you are nvidia user try to reinstall it again and then dont optimise it with geforce experience (dont apply the optimal settings). Seems like Lol is having hard times dealing with outter programs like the geforce experienc. I had the same problem today but then i reinstalled it without optimising it with geforce experience and ran practise tool. At first i got 500 fps and after the minion waves came it dropped to 250 but not more (my rig: rtx2070 super;ryzen 5 3600). Before that i started with 240 fps (capped at 240 so i guess i was going to start with 500 again) and it dropped to like 120-170 fps after the 4-5 min ingame (on both normal and practise tool) . Didnt have time to test it more on a normal game and not practise tool but it seemed to be working. I guess it might work also with amd video users if there is a program equivalent to geforce experiencethat can "optimise" games(never used amd video and dont know).

Never had an issue with league before. I've noticed my stuttering issue occurs when a new section of the map is loaded. Every time I am moving through the fog of war or a new section comes in to view, I experience serious Stuttering. It is currently unplayable. (9.23 Issue only)

OneMustFall11/21/2019, 7:55:46 PM2 votes

Wait so it ISN'T my computer suddenly acting weird for no reason?

Seriously I was freaking out last night, it kept dropping to 40 FPS and ruining my mojo. For some reason it didn't occur to me that this issue could be on Riot's side.

Carefree Cloud11/21/2019, 10:20:43 PM2 votes

+1, same issue, did not figure any dependencies yet, started after 9.23

Yung Ahri11/21/2019, 10:43:26 PM2 votes

Same problem here, literally unplayable, waiting for a fix or an answer from riot

RyconOblivion11/22/2019, 1:51:55 PM2 votes

where is the damn riot team? with or without blitz i still have this fps stutter which only started happening right before the patch (never before)

NoMoreSky11/23/2019, 12:32:39 AM2 votes

FPS will drop from 240 to 3 and to 180 and to 4! IT DIDN'T HAPPEN IN PREVIOUS PATCHES.

NC Fyahbwoy11/23/2019, 8:35:04 AM2 votes

My FPS drops start when the map is changed by the Drakes before it runs smoothly

Jiraiyas IcePop11/30/2019, 12:07:39 PM1 votes

Same problem for me since 9.23 updated I got stable fps 300+ every 30s it drops to 150 or lower. I cant hit or spell someone. Please fix

eyylemón3/1/2020, 10:28:30 PM1 votes

i've started using blitz app again since patch 10, blitz had an update that fixed the code affecting the fps drop issue.

Ăkuma Oni11/23/2019, 4:19:20 PM1 votes

League of legends was smoothLy running with high quality video settings as i have high end PC. But after i download the latest update 9.23 this game become unplayable at all. It freezes for 2 seconds in every fight. I know its not connection nor pc performance. All my friends have faced the same issue. “ switching off blitz didnt help” Awaiting the next update :@

CommunistSlav11/24/2019, 5:54:24 PM1 votes

I had this problem as well, where my game was stuttering constantly, I updated my graphics to the latest version (i have an Nvidia card) and it still didn't work, I thought i was left hopeless and was going to wait for Riot to try to fix this stuttering problem. I never had stuttering problems ever before 9.23 and many people tried reinstalling the game and for them, it didn't work. I found a fix solution (at least for myself) that stopped stuttering, I completely deleted the game but not the client and I installed it fresh on a different drive, that seemed to work for me maybe it was some kind of bug where the drive wasn't able to handle the game or maybe it was my drive which was damaged which is most likely the problem so don't take this granted and if you have a good connection speed and be willing to do what I did which was reinstalling the game on a different drive then maybe it might work but I'm not guaranteeing everything so please don't come at me angry if it didn't help. I'm just telling you guys what fixed the problem for me :)

Crûser11/24/2019, 7:07:58 PM1 votes

same problem ... fps drops since the new update...

FreeRecallsHere11/25/2019, 7:39:59 AM1 votes

BUMP. I dont even run blitz, i think my 4k $ pc should run league of legends just fine. Ive reinstalled the game and graphics drivers. IDK what the hell is going on

intreliaa11/25/2019, 8:10:33 AM1 votes

This issue hurts especially us on the low end of computers. I usually play between 30-40 (I know it’s wild but it’s not bad) and now I get half of that with it even dropped to 5 FPS which is making the game purely unplayable. Kinda sad since I spent $520 on this game :(

KX29711/26/2019, 12:23:43 AM1 votes

Yeah, I'm having the same issues. Randomly throughout the game (in any game mode so far), my FPS will drop from the normal, stable 200 to around 10 or lower. During these drops, my game basically "lags" out. At times, I've had full freezes.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I toyed with in-game settings. I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers for my GPU. So far, nothing has helped.

I also don't have this 'Blitz' thing others have mentioned, so I can say that isn't my issue. I tried closing all background applications that I could, but the game still had horrible FPS drops. The game is very much unplayable for me at the moment.

It may also be worth noting that while these issues seem to go back a few patches for others, I have only been experiencing them since the newest patch (9.23).

I hope for a hotfix soon!

NathanielTaswell11/26/2019, 8:15:03 AM1 votes

For me too. But I'm currently playing on a laptop with intel graphics (UHD 620)... In patch 9.22 I had just minor drops (from 80 to 60), so I didnt bother. But in this patch fps drop from 80 to often 16 or even less. First I thought it was my laptop.Which was refuted after reading through some other forums.

Żügżwäng11/26/2019, 8:17:21 AM1 votes

I get occasional frame drops that I've never had before. Also one of the people I play with recently started commenting on his game lagging

RaikiriPT11/26/2019, 11:43:27 AM1 votes

Same here. Its so stupid 350 fps and drop for 1 fps -.-

dont trust girls11/26/2019, 12:53:14 PM1 votes

Oh thank god there's one bug in the entire history of league that I have yet to experience the joy of. :P

The Highest Noon11/26/2019, 12:59:28 PM1 votes

I also made a post about this following the patch mentioned and tbh I'unno what the issue could be. I feel that it all began with True Damage Ekko, but the issue was happening before the skin even dropped.

Veliq11/26/2019, 2:33:39 PM1 votes

Also go from 150+fps to single digit for a second or two since the newest patch. Never had such problems before and only with this game since 9.23 came out.

Zac x Me11/21/2019, 4:38:02 PM1 votes

Potato and/or Laptop users with HDD's, that can't even bother to buy a $25 240GB SSD and then do a clean install of Windows 10 on that along with the game.

GhostREcon4511/26/2019, 8:27:37 PM1 votes

Same problem for me with a rx 480 from 150 to 40-50

officiadil11/22/2019, 5:59:09 PM1 votes

Hi there, adil from Blitz app here.

As you know, the current problems are the FPS drops, game stucks at 100% and selfclose, etc. This issues are not related to the Blitz app.

We've talked to Riot yesterday and they tell us they're investigating this issues, also a Rioter called Riot mokarran (from LAS) confirmed the problem is related to specific PC's with specific hardware, like dual core CPU (or higher) and they're investigating into it, you can see the full response here:

https://boards.las.leagueoflegends.com/es/c/ayuda-y-soporte/rXXl1YEx-situacian-activa-caaudas-de-fps-y-crashes?comment=00000000

And the direct quote (if you don't understand spanish):

Riot mokarran:

The problem is that at the moment, the issue appears to be because this only affects to specific PC'S with specific hardware, like the dual core CPU or certain infrastucture.

Regards.
