Riot locked me out of my own account due to "suspicious activity"

Let me start off by saying that I have never shared accounts in my entire time of playing league. I got a message few days ago saying that my account was permanently suspended and couldn't log into my client. I messaged Riot and they said that they noticed some "suspicious activity" going on and decided to lock my account for safety issues. They told me to provide a new email and they said to answer as many questions as I can about the account to receive my account back.

Now before I get to any of the questions I answered, I have not reported my account as being hacked or any such thing so Riot decided on THEIR end that it was hacked or something and locked it themselves. Had my account actually been hacked or someone was on it, then I would contact Riot immediately to resolve it and get my account back but this is not the case. I don't know who would claim my account as theirs as I made my own account but I don't doubt that some flamers I recently played with would send a ticket to restrict my account.

So, I answer as many of their questions as possible. I was able to mostly answer the basic questions and not the meticulous ones such as what 5 champions did I first purchase or the newest skin/champion released when I started to play. I answered most of them and albeit I didn't really remember for the specific ones, I definitely know I answered the ones about my credit card and my account info. However, none of that mattered because apparently, the answers I gave were either incorrect or not enough responses so I was met with this response:

Keep responding. Don't NOT reply. Counter everything they say with logic. Something as simple as asking "Does a lack of memory prove me guilty of said activities?" Tell them to send you more questions. Tell 'em you'll answer all of them. It's odd though, they know your home address, phone number, family members' names. They flat out say so in the privacy statement. They even say they disregard all requests of non-tracking from clients. Tencent is probably the second biggest data mining company in existence... obviously not exclusively. Something is certainly askew, though.

Have they told you anything beyond "Suspicious activity"? Speak up dude. Call yourself the account owner. "As the owner of the account in question I believe I have the right to know why I am effectively banned." Don't take supports bullshit. I contacted last when I rolled my 4th mythic, all SS vayne, to point out a statistical anomaly and possible issue within the system and the support I received was "If you would like I can delete the shards from your loot inventory however you won't receive any type of compensation should you decide to do so."

If you're clean man... Fuck that shit. Don't make a new email either, stay with the dude. If he doesn't reply, someone else will. Someone has to reply. They put the problem on you. You need to put it back on them.

Tantram, we need you man! This is advanced horse-shit. Like honestly, I can remember the first three or so champs I purchased when I started like 6 years ago, but honestly can you expect older players to just remember this stuff like common knowledge Riot??? I know who I started climbing to lvl 30 with, and who my friends wanted me to use when I first started, but I can't even remember who I lifted my first refund off of. I remember my original League name before I changed it, and even all the currently owned skins I have (At least I think I do.) I can only hope that would be enough for them to give me mine back if I were to lose my account.

Sounds like the best course of action is to contact them again and keep providing information demonstrating that you are the original account owner, assuming of course that you are the original account owner.

Sucks that your first attempt didn't pan out, but these security locks aren't just random. They had a reason to worry, and if you are who you say you are, they're worrying on your behalf. Take some time to work it out before giving up.

Probably Discord overlay caused this. A friend got a bugsplat and as Rito updated their autodetect thingy to identify and ban Wine users, I'm certain that the Discord overlay now is on their list of bans as well.

Same happenned to me, now they ask all these stupid questions, all I'm doing is waiting for their response. I answered the 1st batch of questions but there is a lot I can't remember, created my acc in season 2 / season 3 cant remember, But I know I started ranked in season 3

Riot can you please fix your policy about locked account... My account is locked.. because my cousin give his account to me as birthday present and now it locked because I'm not original owner.... I try to give you all the answer even my personally contact and my cousin( information, PayPal information, phone) to you .. it still locked because my cousin doesnt remember his date that his create account... Please have a new policy.. the player can claim account after amount of accounts suspicious activity... because the original owner doesn't want that account.. so other person able to claim it... if Riot think that is a hack ... you have amount of time to research.. do the owner report? is other player did bad activity in the game? (Toxic or cheating) So you have enough reason do ban or locked account..

So please riot .. please give amount of time to locked account..3months or 10 months or one year then release it back please.. Please support us back as we player support your game

My cousin quit because he got a job and new baby born to take care, so he gave me the account and only me can use it.. so people give a chance to the player to claim the account.. No one report for lose or hack account.. it just locked because riot think suspicious activity.

You can check IP address.. when you do suspicious activity. Does the IP address different location? In the past 3 weeks or 5 weeks or 3 month? If it different then u have reason to locked the account. But this is different no one report and I use only that account.. so please check my IP address when I login and played in the past weeks

It's forbidden to share accounts. If he was using it earlier you aren't allowed to use this one. You need to create an account on your own. That's just how it is.

What really sucks and worries me is, having to come up w/ a lot of info you won't have a chance to remember after all these years. I mean, I started to play about 4 years ago.. I have no clue who my first champs were.. I have no idea what skins I purchased first.. All I remember is I blew me 3 refunds stupidly because I thought I might get more someday. Shut, I don't even remember how long I played the game before buying my first skins. Really stinks they don't have a better way to do things. One would think w/ the credit card info, access to original email address, and knowing the city/state the account was created in would be more than sufficient. It would be nice for them to sell an account authorization tool like blizzard has that gives a new 6 digit pin every time you log in. I'd pay $10-$15 for that piece of mind.

I really hope you get your account back. Even w/ smurf accounts, it isn't the same as your main account.

If it was locked, then something happened and it's possible you were hacked without your knowing. I would keep trying repeatedly to prove it's your account. Think of anything that could help. The champion you mained in a specific season, the way you earned an icon, a friend who gifted you, a friend you gifted, a club you joined/created, the first skin you purchased. I know it's frustrating and even now I'm wondering how many I could answer. Just keep trying and you'll prove it eventually.

They should definitely add some form of authentication. Even a phone number would help. I always like to use my phone # as 100% validation given the right sense of security. So anything having to do with really sensitive info (personal info) would be ideal, but of course making sure that, in case of an incident of being hacked, phone number verification would be required (without ANY hints, or perhaps the last 3 digits) followed up with an immediate password change demand upon proving ownership with phone verification.

Wish that were something. I'd be pretty pissed if I was permanently locked out of my own league account after blowing so much money on Riot. Similarly, this happened to me twice with Microsoft. I have had some stupid childhood name/email for the longest time. They expect me to remember the last email i sent to whom and all sorts of crazy stuff. One email i made when i was only 12, which of course I had to lie about DoB. So.. Quite frankly i was fucked. Despite obvious forms of proof.. still nothing from them 6 years later.

It will not let me create another ticket so I will respond via email. I have additional info to verify that that account is mine. I started ranked recently and was Silver III in preseason. I started at Silver III as well after my 10 placement matches and am currently Silver I. I have played nothing but Shaco for ranked games and maybe 1 or 2 Jax games. I have no skins on that account besides Nutcracko and I have a level 7 mastery on Shaco on that account. I have multiple accounts which I use on the same computer which might be the reason why you suspected suspicious activity but I NEVER shared my account with anyone. I had bought a Cursed Revenant Nocturne summoner icon and had it for a while until recently buying a Rascal Jester summoner icon and switching over to that since I only play Shaco and the icon was more appropriate. I have been on a 14 day suspension previously and just got off of it a few days before my account was suspended for this. I was very toxic but I removed chat and it helped me to reform. I had a 70%+ winrate before I got banned and I also played Jax for a while during preseason. The last 4 digits of my card is **.

Welp, in my case it's kinda different, A friend of mine sent me a message with a link that brought me to league's homepage... Later after that the same message he sent me was sent to every single one of my recent discussions with my friends. Got myaccount locked for "Suspicious activities " as well when i actually just looked at a link that someon sent to me and said link sent itselfto my friend list. I already made a ticket and i have no answer, it's already been 2 days without a single answer...

Dont know what to do now.. Create my first smurf ever ? And just abandon my skins and level100 account like it's nothing..Been playing league 3 seasons ago and it's the firsttime that happened to me. Im lost :(

I went through their set of questions once and they didn't ask me some of those. :o They must've made it even harder. I only had to answer what my 1st champion was, not 5 of them which I would've never been able to do.
