@Riot; my biggest gripe with balance in this game...

... is honestly, skill animation times. Lee Sin can get his entire combo off before Cho'Gath can get one Rupture through because of how long the wind-up is.

The game is littered with enormous time differences in animations, a lot of which you can't bypass, while others like Riven are able to cancel through almost all of their animations.

Why can't we get this sorta shit cleaned up and have some consistency?

Well we already have some There are spells that would be impossible to dodge without some sort of delay, like Chogath's Q There are spells that can be dodged because they are projectile-based, so they don't need delays, like Lee Sin's Q There are spells that require positioning yourself based on target position and positions of everyone else, so they have to be fast to be actually usable, like Lee Sin's R And there are spells that just deal 1k+ true damage instantly with no way to dodge, like Chogath's R, because all his other damage is unreliable and because he should go in melee range instead of playing like a poke mage

That's also factored into balance, Posui also said it already but you can avoid Lee Sin sheningans, once Cho gets in, there is no avoiding his point and click true damage semi execute of an ultimate.

If cho's rupture was any faster then he would be op.

Skill animation times are a mix of balance and general logic. Personally the only issue with animation times is things like Singed's flip or Heca Q that seemingly apply their effects instantly despite the animation being nowhere near done.

this is power budget territory. and no i don't understand why some champions are allowed to cancel animations and others aren't.
