Does Mastery 4,5,6,7 even mean anything on reworked champions?

Imagine you're playing your favorite main champion Akali one hour after her rework, and you flashed your M7 emote. But what does that emote even means anymore? You're playing a completely new champion, that mastery doesn't mean shit anymore.

To avoid such confusion, Mastery should be reset for specific reworked champions, but the Mastery Points earned from playing matches should be increased. And when reached their recently unlocked M6/7, they only require to finish 1 S-/S game for M6, and 1 S/S+ for M7.

mastery means nothing you can get 3 S from playing long enough that you get matched three times against a guy that didn't play since last season & is first timing a champion that is terrible in the current meta if anything it's more of an indicative that you like the champion than it is of skill

I mean, I had old Irelia at M6 and I learned how to play new Irelia pretty fast considering that she remained part of the gamestyle.

But for other champs like Aa it would probably means nothing because new Aa plays on a way diferent than old Aa

From a jungler's point of view, trust me is very important. Let's imagine a scenario: i queue up, i see i have a Fiora mastery 7 on top, and a tristana adc that doesn't have either a mastery 4. Who do you think i'm gonna camp and get fed? Even if i give 3 kill to the tristana, she will not know what to do with it, if i give them to the Fiora she will know how to snowball off of that. So yes, it is kinda important

Yeah, mastery should be reset for those champions. Anyone with Mastery 6/7 should also get 3150/6300 BE refunded.

Mastery, while it is partially about favorite champions, is also about learning how to play the champion and play him well. A reworked champion throws that out the window, so it's not fair to leave the illusion. The refund for 6/7 is purely compensation. Since S ranks can't be appropriately refunded, I simply increased how much was refunded.
