Skins for Champions with low Playrates

I didn't really know how else to voice my complaints, but I honestly believe what I say here could provide some insight from the perspective of a player of champions who aren't popular, so I apologize in advance if you regard this as a waste of time.

Since season 6 I have mained Aurelion Sol. I, along with a majority of Sol mains were absolutely ecstatic to learn Sol was getting a skin last year. When we got it most of us were heavily disappointed. We didn't mind a 3 year wait if it looked like the skin team had poured their hearts into the skin. But to us it seemed like it was something haphazardly slapped together months prior with no real care for the mains knowing they would buy it anyway. I don't really understand why you guys don't look at what the mains ideas for skins are. Some are amazing ideas, like Dark Star ASol, or a really old one, Deathgod (I forget the actual name), where his stars were angry spirits. I personally just wish Riot worked more with the mains of these champions who only get skins every few years. Another thing, I absolutely love Taliyah, she's my second favorite champ behind only Sol. She got screwed out of a skin because she was chosen for an esports skin which colors were incredibly similar to her existing skin, frejlord. This frustrated me along with most Taliyah mains as well, since when Syndra was getting Star Guardian her esports skin didn't interfere with this, whereas Taliyah's mandatory esports skin seemed to qualify as a new skin. Again, I apologize if it seems like I'm just complaining for the sake of complaining, but it's truly frustrating to see skins as amazing as Dawnbringer Riven or Resistance Illaoi, and then see the same company making Dunkmaster Ivern. It just seems as if certain skins are only being made to shut these mains up without any care going into them.

If you disagree with any of my points here I'd appreciate if you told me why.

TLDR; If a champion is only going to get 1 skin every 3 or so years, try your best to make sure as many of the mains as possible are satisfied. I understand you will never please anyone, but put the same effort into skins for these low playrate champions that you do into the skins of champs with many players. + Taliyah got cucked out of a skin because of her esports skin when the same was not true for Syndra.

the more popular champions are getting skins because, surprise, people are playing those

riot also occasionally holds off on skins they have for a champion for special events or certain times of year

some champions are harder to make skins for, for a variety of reasons

they could also be holding off on a skin if the champion is due for any kind of vgu

About Aurelion Sol: We have to be fair, you can't please everyone with the release of a skin. I personally liked Mecha Aurelion Sol (I am a sucker for all technology themed skins) and I suggested Aurelion Sol as a possible candidate for the Mecha skin line several times here in the boards. But my opinion probably doesn't count for you, since I don't play him.

Have to agree tho that it is sad that so many unpopular champions get so extremely neglected when it comes to skins, like you mentioned Taliyah. She just got the esports skin, but she should actually get another skin since these don't count for the schedule and she was released quite some time ago without getting anything since then.

Feel the same for Zac, I know that he rarely gets skins because of the challenge which is his model, but he is a fairly old champion and looking at the amount of skins he got over the years... just Pool Party and the esports skin. That's just sad.

You think Aurelion Sol mains got screwed? Hoo boy, you clearly didn't see the Ivern mains. Man, the majority of them were livid. I play Ivern off an on when I jungle, and even I was pretty damn pissed with "Dunkmaster." It's a skin literally no one asked for or wanted.

Riot apparently doesn't have anyone who's doing research on low popularity champions before they crank out a shit skin for them. Reading the mains' Reddit or literally any kind of minor research could have given them insight and ideas of what kind of direction to go in for skins. But instead they choose whatever the hell motivated Mecha A-Sol and a fucking meme for Ivern.
