Matchmaking in season 8 is worse than in any other season

This never happened to me before, so many defeats in a row and getting S, S- or even S+ as mid laner in 8 or 9/10 games and winning only 1-2 games. Being first in damage done and still not winning. Unbelievable. Platinum to low diamond elo matchmaking system in SEASON 8 is WORSE than any other time in the history of lol.

I climbed 4-5 accounts this season to find out if i was just unlucky on the first account, but of course it wasnt a coincidence. I found out that INDEED the matchmaking system has gaps, big gaps that are making the game not fun at all. Riot's matchmaking system is making people blame and flame each other instead of focusing on the problem.

Riot, its unacceptable to let someone get SO many defeats in a row while he is getting the highest award of performing in the game which you invented.

I understand that you want to make people to grind in order for them to get the rank they "deserve" according to your way of thinking, as you want your players not to stop playing, BUT not everyone wants or has the time to grind 400-500 games in a season in a single account. YOUR system is forcing people to have 50% win ratio, WHY? Because you want everyone satisfied? Let people with more than 60-70% win ratio get what they deserve without putting them in TOTALLY UNBALANCED matchmaking games. Its not fair and its not fun.

Uninstall done. If you really dont change the gaps you have as a company and consider them as serious matters the numbers of your players will keep decreasing and at some point you will collapse as a company.

Even blizzard collapsed, dont be fooled that you will survive especially if you keep having this mentality.

Kind regards From a master tier player.

So matchmaking is only good when you are winning?

AlexnderTheGreat8/4/2018, 9:02:49 AM4 votes

Riot is trying to keep the majority of its people satisfied. That's why they are trying to force the 50-55% win ratio to everyone sadly. "Go with the flow" or uninstall. Uninstall is a good option especially when another good game pops out, like overwatch. They lost a lot of people because of overwatch, it will continue happening with a bigger effect.

Part of it is honestly player mentality. I'll be the first to agree matchmaking can completely suck - you are correct in that. But I wouldn't say it's significantly worse than some other seasons such as last year.

But it FEELS far worse because players are less willing to keep TRYING if they are losing early. So many players just check out of the game and INTENTIONALLY do stuff they KNOW is a dumb idea because... omg I'm 0/2/0, can't win my lane and jg isn't camping my lane 24/7 to bail me out. Game over, why bother making the smart plays and TRYING to give my team a chance to carry me or get me back to relevance EVENTUALLY. It's either they HELP ME NOW, or I'm at least "soft inting" (possibly actually running it down). That is the sad but true mentality of so damn many players now and it makes me sick. The worst thing is that these people get DEFENDED when they ruin perfectly winnable games by playing like they are braindead when they are perfectly capable of far better. And due to this, it FEELS like half the people you get matched with are wood 5 players (yeah ha ha, make fun of my name; I know). Reality though is that a decent chunk of these players actually ARE capable of playing like they deserve the elo you are playing in... only they stop playing to that level just because they don't feel like trying for whatever reason. And until that starts getting PUNISHED instead of DEFENDED by the community, it's only going to get worse.[sg-ahri-1]

Also, what you REALLY want (and what would undeniably make matchmaking better) is a ladder system that takes into account individual skill metrics. Not only would the players be matched more appropriately, but consistent strong performances are more appropriately rewarded.

I've been barking up that tree since Season 2 and all I got was my idea for Champion Mastery post game scores mangled and thrown in as a useless caveat.

Yeah its been like this for a season and a half now- or at least that is when I started to notice the patterns or gaps as you called them.

You gotta get to that 50% winrate man. So, get fucked. Riots matching is fine, you'll have a 50% winrate soon, proving its working.

Its the biggest load of shit.

I'd love to play this game again, but I quit because of matching. Ranked is actually unplayable in matchings current state. I've been posting this kind of stuff for a while now. Now there are usually always a couple posts running at any given time regarding it.

Its really fucking bad.

You are not master you are plat 3 with 55% win rate. If you were masters, you would be around 60-70% win rate and with less then 100 games.

It's because the game really doesn't have any sizeable playerbase anymore. It's diminishing day by day thanks to the Garbage state of the game. No one wants to play this shit. Got a Diamond Riven in my ranked game the other day in S2. Lmao.

Matchmaking was way worse in the Era of Dynamic Quacktastrophe, I mean, Dynamic Queue. Just saying.

"Stomp or get stomped" has always been their matchmaking awful philosophy. Probably to get an overall 50% win ratio very easily. Not that the game is completely broken, that thing feels just much worse.

Working as intended (cit.).

The trick is the skill scale is so vast these days due to a broad variety of people playing this game. You can't blame riot for that.

I remember when people said this in Seasons 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7

"Runes Reforged" was just a shitty way to make the game casual friendly. It has allowed low skilled players to equally compete against higher skilled players due to overloaded/overpowered runes with all of the excessive damage and RNG elements. The skill gap has been diminished.

Not only did it fail on the competitive side. It has failed for the casual players, too. People are leaving the game because of this nonsense. Now, Riot is scrambling to their feet looking for a battle royale mode, "Nexus Blitz"

Season 8 is a total mess.
